Greetings and Welcome! If you have found your way here looking for info about Kindergarten Ready, well I guess a little history may be helpful. This podcast was very much born during early Covid times. Like many, I found myself teaching and working from home, which made me think it might be a good idea to buy an upgraded microphone. Then I thought, heck, why not buy a really good one and make a podcast. After all, I listen to podcasts, I have a colleague with a podcast, why don't I make one?
Then in true procrastination mode, I spent time thinking first about making a graphic, then playing with theme music in GarageBand, and then watching YouTube videos on sound editing. It wasn’t until I finally got around to recording a show that it hit me- egad, making a podcast is a lot of work! And takes a lot of time! I started off ambitiously, recording an episode per week, then dropped to one every few weeks, then 1/month, then, well, I just stopped. Unfortunately I just didn’t have the time needed to write, record, and edit/produce a podcast on any regular basis- at least not the kind of in-depth show with a decent quality recording as I has set out to do. Who knows, maybe one day I shall return to the world of podcasting, but in the meantime I do hope you enjoy the limited number of shows that were completed.

Cheers

Gene

Hi folks,

With the impending return to university classes, I just haven't been able to get an episode ready in time this week; rather than trying to rush it or deviate from our regular 8:00 AM Wednesday release schedule, the next episode will come out next Wednesday (Sept. 9th)- a research- focused deep dive on storybooks!
