2023 UPDATE: PHEW! It's been a chaotic year here for the editor. Lots of plot twists and turns. We want to hold another poetry contest in May and are posting here to gauge interest. What say you? The content would kick start the Eloquent Mag contest refresh for summer 2023. Please comment with interest and we will be sure to send you the event invite.

Hi all who follow this page:

I've taken a break from maintaining the zine to focus on other priorities. I am unsure of when I will return to publishing at this time. Eloquent Mag was a passion project of mine. I started it mainly to provide other freelancers with income. I also wanted to write creatively about the things I love after trying desperately to fit into the box that traditional journalism shoves writers like me in. So xoxo for now.

Eloquent Mag hosted an open poetry submissions event and the theme was "identity." We opened submissions up to the six nations/first nations/indigenous communities. MikeAll (Michael Grandsoult, government name) was the first poet selected in the series. We want to continue the indigenous poetry features series through the next six months or so and will be publishing poems periodically. It's important, now that popularized hashtag movements are subsiding, to never forget that these communities are indeed communities, nations of peoples, not "tribes" or "tribal men" in the politically inaccurate sense....
