Threw some rear shocks on the 1st Gen this week. We've got a TON of parts on the way to finally get this thing wrapped up! I can't wait!

In this short video, I show you how to outboard your shocks on a 1st Gen 4Runner using a 3rd Gen 4Runner rear axle. I believe a Tacoma rear axle will work in...

I wouldn't call myself a fabricator. I just enjoy the process. Even when that process is a fail.

Lot of ups and down (pun intended) on this one as we work to install the Barnes 4WD coil towers on the 1985 Ultimate Overland 4runner build.

How long are your lower links? I’ve pushed the axle 4” forward (108” total wheelbase). I’ve currently got the lowers at 50” eye to eye. numbers are great in the calculator, but I feel it looks a little wonky. Am I just being picky, or is 50” way too long?

Rears are in. Moving on to 3 linking the front. How much did your trail gear 4” springs settle? I’ve got 400+ lbs of sand in the back right now to help simulate a rear bumper and spare tire carrier that will go in later. Shackle angle is about 30°. Wondering (hoping) it will settle down to 45° but I’m not opposed to pulling a leaf out to accomplish this for now. Front spring mount was moved 6” forward and rear shackle hanger was moved 3” back.
