Our Story

I first got into game design during quarantine, as I often found myself bored without much to do. I took out a notebook and started brainstorming ideas of games. Earlier in the year, I had taken an accounting class as a high school elective, which gave me the spark of inspiration to create a finance-related game. Long before that, though, I had grown up playing finance games like monopoly, games that I still love to this day. My brainstorming notebook soon became the paper-place of the entire design, mechanics, and play of my game. That notebook soon translated into me learning how to design a board game using software on my computer, and learning how to turn my idea into reality.

Finally, near the beginning of August, I received my first prototype of ‘Capitalist,’ soon to be skypig’s first published game. The game needed some work, but with some feedback from family and friends, I was ready to continue building ‘Capitalist’ into its fullest potential. Not only that, I embarked on a mission to create more fun games that get people excited about business and entrepreneurship, as the games I played many times as a child once did for me.
