SAD NEWS: Lusaka's Kamwala Secondary School bus along with the headteachers office have been burnt to ashes hours after Grade 12 candidates completed their final examinations.

The property was torched in the early hours of today and although no-one saw the arsonists, many blame the incident on delinquent former pupils.

A woman, cranky because her husband was late coming home again,
decided to leave a note, saying, “I’ve had enough and have left you.

Then she hide under the bed to see his reaction.
After a short while, the husband comes home and she could hear him in the kitchen before he comes into the bedroom.
She could see him walk towards the dresser and pick up the note.
After a few minutes, he wrote something on it before picking up the phone and calling someone.
“She’s finally gone…yeah I know, about bloody time, I’m coming to see you, put on that sexy French nightie.
I love you…can’t wait to see you…we’ll do all the naughty things you like.
“He hung up, grabbed his keys and left.
She heard the car drive off as she came out from under the bed.
Seething with rage and with tears in her eyes
she grabbed the note to see what he wrote…
“I can see your feet. We’re outta bread: be back in five minutes

MOBILE MONEY AGENT SHOT DEAD AT HER HOME

This is, Naomi Maenda, the young mobile money agent who has has allegedly been shot dead at home in Katozi, Nakonde district.

According a family member, the young woman was killed by gunmen in her home in the early hours of today.

The victim, identified as Naomi Maenda, was in her 20s and lived with her nephew, who witnessed the attack and spoke to Chete FM News.

He said he was asleep when he heard a loud noise from the back window of the house around 1 am. He got up to investigate, but before he reached the living room, he saw two men dressed in black. He hid behind a door, terrified.

He then heard a gunshot from his aunt's room, where she was sleeping. He did not dare to come out of his hiding place or make any noise. He did not know when the intruders left, as the house was silent.

After some time, he allegedly went to check on his aunt and found her lying dead on her bed. He was still afraid to call for help or go outside, thinking they might still be around or come back for him.

He waited until dawn and ran to his neighbour's house, Frederick Simbaya, to ask for assistance. The neighbours came and confirmed that she was dead. They arrived around 6 am.

This is the third incident of violence against mobile money agents in Nakonde this year. Two other agents were attacked and shot in June, near Mayenda's house.

The neighbours are demanding increased security in the area, saying that theft and other crimes are rampant. They are calling for police presence and patrols.

They also suspect that the criminals might be living nearby. Mayenda worked as a mobile money operator at the black market in Nakonde.

Kabwata cop dies 10 minutes after falling ill while on duty

KABWATA Police Station in Lusaka is mourning a young and dedicated Police officer who died while on duty on Tuesday evening.

According to his workmates, Constable Ezra Tembo aged 26 years reported for his nightshift duties at 18:00 but complained of being breathless around 21:00 hours before he began bleeding and vomiting.

Noticing how quickly Constable Tembo seemed to have been deteriorating, his colleagues rushed him to Kabwata Clinic just across the the road but unfortunately he did not make the short trip.

Constable Tembo was pronounced dead on arrival at the clinic, less than 10 minutes after falling ill.

He will be buried in Kafue tomorrow, the place where he grew up.

Last December, a video of Constable Tembo who has served the Zambia Police Service for five years went viral as he gave chase to one Ben Lombe after she escaped from police custody.

Student nurse loses marriage over underwear remark

A STUDENT nurse of Lusaka is on the verge of losing her marriage after she loudly wondered why her husband was obsessed with his torn old-fashioned bambas (pants) when other men had moved on to wearing classy boxers.

Mwape Mwenda aged 31 of Lusaka's Garden House Compound spoke herself to singleness when she innocently advised her husband Godfrey Daka, 45 to move with fashion trends and emulate other men in wearing boxers instead of 'bambas" but the remarks did not sit well with him.

Being an experienced police officer, Daka's detective and investigative instincts kicked in and took his wife through an interrogation session to understand how she came to how she came to know that other men loved to wear boxers.

In the end, the couple's 12 year old marriage took a downward turn after Daka concluded that his wife had been seeing other men.

But in a effort to bring the marriage back on course, Mwape brought the matter before the Lusaka Boma Local Court seeking reconciliation.

Mwape explained that although her husband was a womanising alcoholic who sometimes did not provide for her and the couple's three children, she believed that he would change with court counsel.

She denied ever laughing about her husband's pants saying he was just trying to create false reasons to divorce her.

She insisted that she had no idea what men loved to wear under their trousers.

"He even stopped me from talking to my male cousins, I don’t even have their contacts because he is too protective and jealous over me. I told him that my parents wanted to seat us down, but he refused saying he cant listen to useless people. He has no respect for my parents and his family doesn’t listen to me because he is the bread winner,” complained Mwape.

But determined to leave his wife, Daka insisted that he had no intentions of going back home with her the very day.

"Just give us a divorce today because I don’t want to go back home with her today, let her parents get her, she is too boastful for me,” said Daka.

He said Mwape was big pretender who changed her ways the moment she got into nursing school.

" She started comparing me with other men. Can you imagine, one day, she laughed at me after seeing my torn underwear, when I asked her why she never bought me new pants since she’s the one I give my card, she told me that pants are old fashioned for men so I should start buying boxers instead because they are trending. Up to now, am still wondering were she saw the trending boxers from,” said Daka.

Daka also accused his wife being violent and boastful saying she always bragged about how she would not suffer even he left her because she was beautiful.

“When I found her, she was just a grade 12 failure with only a pass in English, I had to pay for her GCE which she re-wrote for 5 good years. Now I have spent K17, 150 for her first year in school. But I don’t want her anymore because she has changed and I don’t want to be among the many police officers in the media for killing their spouses,” said Daka.

In passing judgement, Senior Local Court Magistrate Mpundu Mwape Fwambo advised the couple to convene a family meeting to resolve their problems but Daka refused.

“As court, we do not advise divorce. The children will be the one’s effected. Your issues are something that can be resolved once you seat down. Your children are too young to grow up with separated parents. But since one party does not want, we can not force you as the court. Therefore, this reconciled has failed, aggrieved party to sue for divorce,” said Magistrate Fwambo.

LAMENTATIONS OF AN ABANDONED MOTHER.....I WILL DIE A SAD PERSON

My name is Margaret Nzala and I live in
Kambili Village in Mungule. I am not sure of my exact age.

When I was young I had a problem of
Conceiving so I only had a child in my late 30's.

My husband died when my only son was six months old. I used to clean toilets at one of the tarvens in Msisi township in order to put food on the table and to pay for my son's education.

My son completed his secondary school level of education by the grace of God.There were times when he was sent away from school for failing to pay school fees.I also remember there was a school term when his school shoes got spoiled so he had no option but to start wearing my only pair of shoes. Luckily I had an old pair of slippers commonly known as "tropicals" which I started using.

My son managed to get good results at grade 12 and was given a scholarship to study in Russia.

About eight months after he left Zambia, he started renting a small house for me which atleast had running water and electricity, and every month he would send money for my upkeep and rentals.

My son stayed in Russia for four years and when he came back to Zambia, he quickly got himself a job and I moved from Msisi township and started living with him in a three bedroom house in Kabwata.

At first my son was caring, he made sure I never lacked anything in my life.

Problems started soon after he met a girl and married her. His wife made it clear the very first day she moved in the house were I was staying with my son that she no longer wanted me there. She started complaining to neighbours that I was a very careless old woman who was fond of keeping the house dirty. She then started mistreating me and hiding food from me.

And a few months after their wedding, my son was transferred to Kitwe.
His wife was against the idea of me moving to Kitwe with them so my son decided to rent a one room for me in Jake compound.

My son only paid rentals for me for only four months and cut all communication ties with me.
The landlord then evicted me from his house due to non payment of rentals.

Left with no place to live I contacted an old friend of mine who invited me to live with her in Mungule area and that was how I found myself here.

I have not heard from my son for almost a year now,a few months ago I heard rumors that he is now rich and empowering his wife's family.

I have been struggling in all areas of my life and my health is now failing me.

I hope and pray that one day my son will come back to his senses and help me while I am still alive.
