THE LOW PRESSURE AREA IN THE MIDDLE OF THE PHILIPPINE SEA EAST OF EASTERN VISAYAS DEVELOPED INTO TROPICAL DEPRESSION CHEDENG.

Location of Center (11:00 AM)
The center of Tropical Depression CHEDENG was estimated based on all available data at 1,170 km East of Southeastern Luzon (12.9°N, 135.0°E)

Intensity
Maximum sustained winds of 45 km/h near the center, gustiness of up to 55 km/h, and central pressure of 1004 hPa

Present Movement
Almost stationary

Extent of Tropical Cyclone Winds
Strong winds extend outwards up to 360 km from the center

At 8:00 AM today, June 6, 2023, the Low Pressure Area east of Eastern Visayas developed into Tropical Depression according to PAGASA.
Tropical Cyclone Bulletins will be issued starting at 11:00 AM today.

Governor Matthew Marcos Manotoc declares suspension of work in government offices and classes at all levels in public and private schools tomorrow, May 30, due to Typhoon "Betty."

However, government offices involved in emergency response will remain operational.

The suspension of work in private companies is left at the discretion of their respective heads.
