During the time when women used to remain under veils, face oppression, intimidation, disrespect and torture, when they were not even considered to be granted rights, when they were only treated as '๐๐๐๐๐๐' bought and sold and their emotions and feelings not given a damn about, during these times, Kadambini Ganguly became the ๐๐ข๐ซ๐ฌ๐ญ ๐ฐ๐จ๐ฆ๐๐ง to pass the entrance examination of the University of Calcutta in 1877.
She even completed several graduation programs successfully and later, encouraged by her husband cm teacher, ๐๐ฐ๐๐ซ๐๐ค๐๐ง๐๐ญ๐ก ๐๐๐ง๐ ๐ฎ๐ฅ๐ฒ( 17 years older to her), went on to study medicine. In short, she gave society a tight slap right across the face. Literally, everyone was against her wishes of studying medicine.
Despite her glorious accomplishments, she was denied an admission in the Calcutta Medical College. After much coaxing, negotiating and finally legal threatening did the college admit Kadambini. Thus she became the first woman to be admitted in the CMC and paved the way for the aspiring and oppressed women.
In 1886, finally, she passed her college with a GBMC degree and went on to become a doctor.
