Well youth season came and went. He got a shot off at a doe Saturday evening but was not a fatal hit. He tracked blood for less than 100 yards and it dried up. Searched for clues for next hour to find nothing. Gave it a college try on Sunday but nothing liked us being in the woods Saturday night. He (we) is bummed but will give it another try come November.

Well the mountain won. Again. We learned a lot this year. A new area completely unseen until the hunt. Was able to locate elk, just didn't go our way. Had an amazing trip and will do it again next year. Time for whitetail.

Moved camera onto our small food plot we got in last weekend. Already have some sprouts. Got a very photogenic doe and some fawns. Had over 250 pictures in a week. Need to play with settings. Still no Jerry...

Do things you don't like to do. Mine is running. I hate running but am trying to like it by pushing myself to be better at it. This is from September my first official race. I have now signed up for a mini marathon in April.

My goal for next year is to find peace in these moments. Stay present and enjoy the process instead of stressing about the next hunt or what tomorrow is going to bring. Control what i can control.
