A second trip out to Maldon on the River Blackwater today after last weeks visit was cut short by the sheer amount of people making the most of the gorgeous weekend sun we had. This time I got to spend a little more time in the air. Filmed in 2.7k and 4k UHD
The historic maritime town of Maldon is located at the mouth of the Blackwater Estuary and is known across the world for its connections to the Saltmarsh Coast, with the famous sea salt, iconic Thames Sailing Barges and the infamous mud race. It is the second oldest town in Essex and received a Royal Charter from Henry II in 1171.
Maldon's Hythe Quay is a historic working waterfront that is home to the largest collection of active Thames Sailing Barges. From the quay, you can take a trip on one of these barges with Topsail Charters and the Thames Sailing Barge Trust, or you can also take a cruise aboard the Viking Saga pleasure boat and take in views of the Blackwater Estuary.
Hadleigh Castle - Thames Estuary
Finally the weather relented and I was able to get over to Hadleigh Castle and get some decent footage of the ruins on a bright sunny afternoon. A few 'high Wind' warnings but nothing too much to worry about.
