Museveni appoints two ministers to quell the Kajokeji - Yumbe border crisis.

President Yoweri Museveni has taken action to address the border disputes between Uganda and South Sudan.

In an effort to settle these issues, he has appointed a delegation led by two ministers, Huda Abason Oleru (State Minister for Veteran Affairs) and Dr. Joyce Moriku Kaducu (State Minister for Primary Education), to camp in Yumbe district.

Their primary objective is to resolve the tensions that have arisen after South Sudanese authorities claimed ownership of more than 20 villages in Kerwa and Kochi.

To ensure successful negotiations and discussions, the ministers are accompanied by police commanders, Resident District Commissioners (RDCs), LC Chairpersons from both districts, army officers, and other security agencies.

Their collective efforts aim to find a way forward in addressing the concerns and protecting the interests of the populations residing along the Uganda-South Sudan border.

Once the delegation completes its mission and reaches a consensus, they will present a report to President Museveni. The report will serve as the basis for a final discussion on how to proceed and resolve the border disputes.

Previously, officials from South Sudan failed to reach an agreement during a meeting held at the border of Yumbe and Kajokeji.

As a result, Uganda deployed the Uganda People's Defense Force (UPDF) to what South Sudan claimed as its territory.

This deployment was received with divergent reactions with fear that it could spark an arm resistance between the two countries.

It is hoped that through the ongoing efforts of the delegation led by the appointed ministers, a peaceful and mutually beneficial solution can be achieved, putting an end to the border wrangles between Uganda and South Sudan.

This comes a day after president Kiir of South Sudan met with central Equatoria state governor Hon. Emmanuel Adil and assured him of his support to end the conflict.

More than 400 people are still displaced at Bori, kajokeji village of central Equatoria state.

A Member of Parliament representing Kajokeji County in the National Assembly claims that the Ugandan People Defense Forces (UPDF) have “deployed heavy” inside the territory of South Sudan along the boarder with Uganda.

James Janka Duku on Monday told the August house that on Saturday last week, residents of Nyaingamuda village in Bori Boma of Kajokeji County, witnessed heavy deployment of forces allegedly from neighbouring Uganda.

He claimed that the UPDF have evicted South Sudanese from the area, and blocked movement of people from both sides.

“They [UPDF] have evicted the South Sudanese from the area. As I speak, they have deployed heavily and nobody is allowed either to come from refugee camps to Kajokeji or to go from Kajokeji to the refugee camps. They have only left one corridor at Jaleki hill,” claimed the MP.

The lawmaker added that as of Sunday, the foreign forces had arrested three people in the area, with their whereabouts still unknown.

He describes the developing situation as an issue of national security calling on the parliament to act swiftly.

“This is an issue of national security, we have not heard from the government and we would want the parliament to take it over as a matter of emergency.”

yesterday some other news, the Ugandan 🇺🇬 people's defense force (UPDF) have heavily deployed and currently building a baracks inside South Sudanese area of (Nyaingamuda), Bori boma in Kajokeji.

Last week, 13 Ugandan loggers in Bori were arrested by local youth in protest of the 1 executive chief who was arrested by the Ugandan authorities.

In light of the above, as a mechanism to bring peace to the two border communities of kajokeji of south Sudan and yumbe of Uganda, a team headed by Central Equatoria State security advisor Hon. Daya was sent on the ground to quell the tension and find an amicable solution to the problem.

The two governments agreed to let the issue be addressed on a national level, and hence the youth should desist talking about any border related issue.

In just a week, locals in Bori are surprised to see UPDF put up barracks and displace locals.

They claim that the GPS reads Uganda and therefore it's Ugandan territory.

Governor Emmanuel Adil Anthony has safely arrived Kajo-Keji Town ahead of today’s enthronement of Bishop,Rt.Rev. Dr. Lule James Kenyi.

Upon arrival at Kajo-Keji airstrip,the Governor was warmly received by the County authorities including the clerics drawn from the various Dioceses of the Episcopal church of South Sudan and immediately proceeded to the Diocesan Headquarters Romogi.

KAJO KEJI FOOTBALL TEAM ARRIVES YEI AHEAD OF PEACE TOURNAMENT.

The 23 men squad arrived Yei town yesterday for the peace tournament scheduled to kickoff today.

Organized and funded by Fin Church Aid (FCA) as part of it's peace promotion project the tournament will see the counties of Lainya, MOROBO, Yei River and Kajo Keji face off to determine the winner.

The Kajo Keji select team comprise mostly of players earlier summoned to play the independence friendly that show KAJO KEJI county in a 1:1 draw with Moyo District of Uganda.

The team Manager Mr. Mono Julius who led the team into the independence draw against Moyo is leading the team with the coaching team composed of Mr. Gworit Emmanuel and Assistant Coach Wude Gloria.

Kajo Keji County Fc will play Lainya on Tuesday while Morobo County Fc faces Yei River County FC today at the Yei freedom square.

The finals will be played on Wednesday at the Yei freedom square.

John is currently receiving treatment for gunshots injuries in Giada (Juba Military Hospital)

My short encounter with Senior Lubang a farmer in Kajokeji, He was explaining to me why he is having low produce of Oranges.

Among key issues he pointed out is a dangerous insect that wants to feed on the oranges by piercing through.

So he created an alternative to avoid the infestation, Lubang now uses a pierced empty bottle to divert the insects.

He grows, oranges, mangoes, yams, lemons, bananas, maize, sukumawiki, potatoes and many others.

He also gave me 3 oranges to make fresh juice 😋😋😋. Thanks a lot 🙏🙏🙏

SUKE Sukari :
Today I went to visit the commisioner of Kajo-Keji County Hon. Phanuel Dumo who is currently receiving treatment in Case Clinic Kampala Uganda.
Hon. Phanuel had a short illness which was followed by complications relating to the heart and brain.
He was rushed to Case Clinic in Kampala Uganda and had a successful brain Surgery yesterday 26/05/2023.
He is currently in stable condition while receiving treatment under close monitoring by the hospital doctors.
He communicates and eats normally as usual besides being on oxygen.
I would like to thank H. E Emmanuel Adil Anthony the governor of Central Equatoria State for swiftly responding in facilitating the emergency transportation and surgery of Hon. Phanuel Dumo.
I also want to thank all those who supported in various ways the facilitation and medication of Hon. Dumo.

The Hon commissioner of kajo-keji county Phanuel Dumo Modi yesterday received a team from Juba to inspect the designing of the Kajokeji- Juba road.
The team is from Infra System Afrika Limited, a company that has been assigned to carryout the conceptual design of the road.
Mr. Koboji Charles, a team leader of Company Engineers and Scientist from Juba to kajo-keji on a mission to collect data for the conceptual design of the above road project.
Mr. Charles commended the commissioner for the positive respond accorded to them and for providing valuable information necessary for designing and an environmentally friendly road project.
Commissioner Dumo further appealed to everyone to commit to the project.
At the eve of the Christmas, InfraSystems Afrika Ltd invited, stakeholders of Kajo keji including Kajo keji Youth Association (KKYA) for the presentation of it's inception report on the feasibility studies that were tasked to carry on the Juba-KK road project.
Accordingly, the feasibility studies is expected to inform the design, costing and other technicalities necessary for the construction of the road.

Hon: Commissioner appreciate the the work of late Rev: Francis Loku in the Diocese of kajo-keji and the county at large, we us the people of kajo-keji has to copy the work of late Rev: francis Loku.

Hon: commissioner appeal to all the youths to work hard because youths are the future of kajo-keji county, all of us has to commit ourselves to work hard because it is our time to reform the county.

Everyone in kajo-keji is a leader, as parents, let's model our children with good Spirit and we should pray hard that God will bring Reformation to our homeland Kajo-keji.
