We’ve been away for a bit but we’re back, as of today, with a new series of the podcast.

Like so many, we have been carrying a huge amount of anger and we needed to find ways to release it in order to stay committed to, and evolve, our work.

We stepped away, not to blinker ourselves from reality, but to enable us to find ways to heal so that we can push our work forward and be of service to those around us and within our communities.

During our exploration, we came across the work of Kat Courtney and we knew that her approach to, and respect for, plant medicine, specifically Ayahuasca, made her the right person to start this new series of conversations with.

Kat is the founder of and has been involved in the plant medicine space for the last two decades. She is a loving source of wisdom and this episode is an outpouring of her knowledge, gained through 20 years of experience in ceremonial healing.

In this episode, we discuss Kat’s journey with this beautiful medicine. She shares her decades-long experience of sitting in, and holding, ceremony space and how plant medicine can not only heal, but also offer support and wisdom in helping you find purpose in the work that you’re most passionate about. Towards the end of our conversation, Kat offers up a powerful process for transmuting anger into purpose which we hope will help you as profoundly as it has helped us.

I can’t @ her but Julie Marson is the local MP for where I live - this is her callous response to emails sent asking her to support ceasefire arrangements and South Africa’s case at the ICJ.

I wouldn’t be surprised if this is the only government approved response that those who reach out to their MPs will receive on this. Would love to hear/see any other heartless government issue responses are being sent at the moment…

The rampant transphobia being touted by the British government is giving the US a run for its money...

Hyper-conservative politicians are using their platforms to enact further oppression on communities that are already under duress, who simply want to exist in peace, who just want the luxury of aging to adulthood and beyond.

Trans kids and adults are not a threat to anyone, they’re a community of people trying to exist authentically.

This one’s going on repeat: If you’re not part of the trans community, or aren’t lucky enough to have trans people in your life, you should not be involved in making decisions that impact their right to exist as human beings.

2,681 people have died in the catastrophic earthquake that struck Morocco over the weekend.

Whole villages have been wiped out. People are stuck in rubble, or sleeping outside, and aftershocks could keep causing havoc for days and even weeks.

Choose Love’s partners are pulling people from rubble and providing essentials like food, water, electricity, toilets and matressess. need to raise as much as possible as fast as possible.

Drought conditions, hurricane winds and a downed power line have burned Lahaina, once the capital of the Hawaiian kingdom, to the ground.

Know that this is an intentionally false re-telling of history in order to more fully reinstate oppressive systems (enslavement has never truly been abolished, just twisted to fit the needs of our fundamentally racist systems).

Today is a good day to start talking to your kids about systemic racism, if you don’t already do it. If you don’t feel like you know enough about it, today is a great day to learn the truth.

“Women in foraging societies may have been just as skilful hunters as men were, but researchers have historically dismissed their contributions.”

Unsurprised by the historical dismissal and erasure of women and their contributions to society, as well as their role(s) within it 🙄

BUT over the moon to find teams of researchers dedicated to course correcting our shared historical narrative ♥️ a great article by Margaret Osborne for the Smithsonian 😍

“Their analysis revealed that regardless of maternal status, women hunted in 50 of these societies—or about 79 percent. And more than 70 percent of female hunting appeared to be intentional—rather than opportunistically killing animals while doing other activities, per the study. In societies where hunting was the most important activity for subsistence, women participated in hunting 100 percent of the time.

‘The hunting was purposeful,’ [study co-author & professor and co-chair of biology at Seattle Pacific University] Cara Wall-Scheffler tells NPR. ‘Women had their own tool kit. They had favorite weapons. Grandmas were the best hunters of the village.’ “

Eternal thanks to & for introducing us to this beautifully succinct list of truths about the United States of America.

To those raised on Indigenous lands but never taught Indigenous history outside of the myths of Thanksgiving and manifest destiny, to those who were told that enslavement was a necessary evil but never to question why evil would ever be necessary, to those raised to blindly trust in the protection of law enforcement, to those who were never told about the origin of George Washington’s teeth and Jefferson’s enslavement of 600+ people, to those who believe that America always saves the day but don’t know what really happened in Vietnam, South Korea, Cuba, the Philippines, Guam, Alaska, US Virgin Islands, American Samoa, Santo Domingo, Nicaragua, Mexico, Panama, Iraq, Iran, Syria, Afghanistan, Palestine, Haiti, Puerto Rico, Hawaii, and many more.

To those whose brains were repeatedly washed with the lies of meritocracy and White supremacy.

Today is a good day to start learning the truth. It’s out there waiting for you.
