Behind the TRIX || || The is a mythical Chinese creature with iridescent cyan scales, a flamboyant mane, and a wizened, human-like face. Something like a cross between a dragon and a unicorn, this fantastical creature threw our team into creative disbelief. We went through many iterations to create the Qilins; trying out various color combinations and biases to keep them looking magical yet believable. It was fascinating to see how little it took to break the creature: too much saturation on the scales, the mane a bit too puffed up, weird behavior on the body fur – and immediately it felt off. The final product? A photorealistic blue dragon-unicorn. (Obviously!)
