HON. ABAGWU MEETS WITH STAKEHOLDERS OF ADANAWO DISTRICT, SET UP COMMITTE TO INSPECTS PROPOSED LAND FOR EXPANSION OF ANKPA LGA GENERAL CEMETERY.
The Executive Chairman of Ankpa Local Government council, Hon. Abagwu Ibrahim Yesterday 26th January 2021 met with Stakeholders of Eti- Afor - Ojogobi in Ankpa local Government area in his office set up committe to inspects Community proposed land for expansion of Ankpa township General Cemetery.
Alhaji A.A Sani who spoke on behalf of the district, stated that, the people of Eti- Afor Community in their last meeting unanimously agreed to lease part of the community land to the Government for expansion of the cemetery.
The people's Chairman in his remarks thanked the people for their cooperation, he stated that "on his assumption to office, Ankpa Islamic Community wrote to his office demanding Government intervention on the issue of lack of space to burry deceased persons, thereby appealing for support for expansion. He said since they was no available Government land suitable enough within his jurisdiction, he led the stakeholders of Ankpa Muslim community after a constructive agreement with the people of the community who unanimously agreed to lease out part of their land for the proposed cemetery last week to Abuja to discuss the issue with a prominet son of Ankpa soil Late. AGF. Alhaji Abdullahi Ibrahim SAN who he said assured of his Support to fund the bills before his unfortunate death.
He thereafter proactively constituted a Ten man committe chaired by the HOD of works, land and housing and two sons each from the four ruling clan of Adanawo District to inspect the land offered for lease to the Government by the people of Eti- Afor Ojogobi community in order to prove the authenticity of the land. The chairman urged the committee to take into consideration individual lands, adding that the government is willing to take responsibility for the plan of the new Cemetery for immediate use by the people.
Other Stakeholders of the community in their respective remarks, Commended the Executive Chairman for his exemplary Leadership style and assured of their unalloyed cooperation noting that indeed his approach is welcoming and deserve commendation. A minute silent was observed to honor the late legal icon and prayers were held to God to forgive his shortcomings and Grant his soul eternal rest.
Dr. Mohammed Sani Haruna Representaive of Ankpa Muslim community, Alhaji Isah Adejo the Vice Chairman Ankpa elders forum, Madaki Eti Afor, Adukaya Eti-Afor, Pastor and Imam of Eti-Afor, and Representaive from the Okeme, Sani, Wodi and Akoh ruling clan, youth leader of Eti-Afor amongst other critical stakeholders were in attendance.
