This issue lays bare our brain’s complexity. It’s about how we form connections—with the world, with our bodies, and with each other. It’s about how the brain can break, fail, or fade and our attempts to grasp why. But it’s also about resilience—the mind’s constant drive to adapt, heal, and create new pathways. How it looks at what’s broken and seeks to fix it, sometimes through science, sometimes through art, sometimes through an inexplicable will, and oftentimes by blending both in ways that defy easy explanation.
This issue is a call to lean into that complexity, to ask the questions we don’t have answers to, and to dare imagine what the brain might yet be capable of.
