I think we’ve all had/have expectations for ourselves, for our future, or for other people. Not always, but more often than not, it doesn’t go the exact way we imagined it would in our heads.

When our plans and expectations don’t align with the reality we’re living in, it’s frustrating and defeating. But just because it’s not going the way we thought it’d go or the way we hoped it would doesn’t mean that it’s not all working out in the grand scheme of things.

The challenges faced along the way are bothersome and dissapointing detours that force us to face the parts of ourselves that need a little extra TLC that we wished we could just tuck away in a little box and forget about.

The universe is really like “just trust me here, okay?”

Ways I like to reduce my EMF exposure:

Sleeping further from my phone, using speaker phone instead of holding it to my ear, taking frequent breaks to get outside and away from electronics and appliances, and decreasing my microwave usage (which is really hard to do).

Tips for hair pulling (AKA trichotillomania)

I have trichotillomania and It used to be really bad but over the past few years I’ve learned some ways to help manage it.

Acrylic nails have been a HUGE help in decreasing my hair pulling as well as picking my skin!

fish oil and collagen powder are magical + have so many other benefits.

I always keep something on my eyes- during the days it’s makeup and after my shower it’s castor oil. If I don’t have something on them, I’ll start pulling.

I was so ashamed, embarrassed, and angry with myself when my trichotillomania first started. I had no idea why I was CHOOSING to pull out all of my eyelashes and eyebrows. Of course I later found out it wasn’t a choice and that it was an actual thing lolll.

Anywaysss if you struggle with trichotillomania or skin picking you are def not alone❤️

I’m so tired of seeing perfectly curated photos that make everyone’s lives look so cute, organized, and wholesome. It makes me feel like absolute poo bc how could literally everyone have their life SO together?

Emotionally, April felt like a difficult month for me. I definitely had some happy moments but I think we all see enough of those on this app. I hope this photo dump helps you feel a little less inadequate and alone.

I bought this swimsuit then tried returning it bc I thought it would make my bo***es gravity proof like the models but it didn’t.

I only noticed the model was airbrushed while making this post and I just think it’d be really cool if they didn’t do that. They also didn’t accept my return lol

I’ve always viewed by body type as like a rectangular cardboard box and comparing myself to this model really solidifies that and I’m surprisingly so fine with it.

2. Move your body in minimal clothing. This is such a great way to connect with your body & let go of what it looks like and instead focus on what it’s capable of doing.
3. Write down your self defeating thoughts on paper then burn it.
4. Eat the foods you’re craving.
5. Give yourself a compliment when you wake up in the morning.

Let’s talk about CODEPENDENCY 👇🏼

There are so many behaviors I have that I thought were just part of my personality but it turns out that they were actually unhealthy codependent patterns hindering all my relationships and overall quality of life.

I thought being codependent meant that you were reliant on a single person/unable to set boundaries & therefore creating an unhealthy relationship.

But codependency could be living your life & making choices in hopes of getting someone else’s approval. Or telling other people how to live their life bc you think you know best. or focusing on everyone else’s problems instead of your own.

There are so many different layers to codependency that I’m still learning about but going to meetings has been life changing & I’ll forever be grateful for the fellowship & wisdom it offers. 💕

Reconnecting with myself is something I have to constantly remind myself of. It’s so easy to get caught up in work, busy schedules, long to-do lists, apps and other people that I forget about checking in with me.

Sometimes I even actively avoid checking in with me and purposely disconnect with myself because it’s easier.

A tell-tale sign that I need to reconnect is when I notice myself becoming more easily anxious, stressed and irritable.
