Countdown to the Election - Media Myths Made Clear With just 20 days until the Presidential election, it is essential that, we, the American people, are presented with reliable news stories.

This page will clear up some of the top MSM myths that are being pushed by a very dishonest media.

MEDIA MYTH #6 - Joe Biden will not raise taxes on those earning less than $400,000 per year.

This is false.

Not only is it false, it is insulting to the intelligence of the American people.

Joe Biden has and continues to state that he will repeal the Trump tax cuts, specifically the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017 (TCJA). A repeal of this tax act will in effect RAISE taxes on every, single tax bracket.

Biden uses the phrase "repeal tax cuts" instead of "raise taxes" because he thinks we are too stupid to realize it is one in the same. It is simple semantics. He thinks the American people are stupid and the MSM agrees.

This is simply another 'pull the wool over their eyes' dishonest and insulting move by the media and the Democrat candidate for President of the United States.

Repeal of the TCJA would result in the following: (from Americans for Tax Reform - ATR.org)

~ A family of four earning the median income of $73,000 would see a $2,000 tax increase.
~ A single parent (with one child) making $41,000 would see a $1,300 tax increase.
~ Utility bills would go up in all 50 states as a direct result of the corporate income tax increase.
~ Small employers will face a tax increase due to the repeal of the 20% deduction for small business income.
~ The USA would have the highest corporate income tax rate in the developed world.
~ Taxes would rise in every state and every congressional district.
~ The Death Tax would ensnare more families and businesses.
~ The AMT would snap back to hit millions of households.
~ Millions of households would see their child tax credit cut in half.
~ Millions of households would see their standard deduction cut in half

Read for yourself from the typically left-leaning CNBC. Even they can't spin the truth this time.

MEDIA MYTH #5 - President Trump has done a terrible job handling the coronavirus.

This is false.

The best way to illustrate this is to compare the response to coronavirus with that of other responses to viral outbreaks in our history. The best way to make this comparison is to look at the number of cases.

While not one person is responsible for a virus itself, we can judge the response. Containing & stopping the spread is essential in measuring the effectiveness of combating a viral outbreak. This can be illustrated by looking at number of cases.

Let's compare the number of cases of coronavirus in the US to the number of cases of H1N1 in the US.

According to the CDC (cited below), the first case of coronavirus infection in the United States was recorded on Jan. 20, 2020. As of today, Oct. 21, 2020, 8.18 million Americans have contracted coronavirus. This averages to 908,000 infections per month in America.

The first case of H1N1 infection in the United States was recorded in April of 2009. From April 12, 2009 to April 10, 2010, CDC estimates 60.8 million Americans contracted H1N1. This averages to 5.06 million infections per month in America. Million is not a typo.

60 million Americans contracted H1N1 in 1 year.
11 million Americans contracted coronovirus in 1 year. (3 month projection added).

The only thing Obama & Biden did right with H1N1 is land a virus that wasn't as deadly. It is estimated that 2 million Americans would have died between 2009-2010 had H1N1 been as deadly as coronavirus.

The handling by the Obama administration of containing & stopping the spread of H1N1 was abysmal. The linked Wall Street Journal article does a good job detailing this gross mishandling.
https://www.wsj.com/articles/the-obama-biden-virus-response-11597966209

Biden's former Chief of Staff sums it up best with the following quote from a Texas A&M speech in 2019:
“We did every possible thing wrong. Sixty million Americans got H1N1 in that period of time, and it is just purely a fortuity that this isn’t one of the great mass-casualty events in American history. [It] had nothing to do with us doing anything right; just had to do with luck. If anyone thinks that can’t happen again, they don’t have to go back to 1918. Just go back to 2009, 2010. Imagine a virus with a different lethality, and you can just do the math.”

By contrast, the handling by the Trump administration of containing and stopping the spread of coronovirus was aggressive, effective, politically unselfish, and has been said by Dr. Fauci and numerous other experts in the field to have saved hundreds of thousands of American lives.

Thank goodness Donald Trump was our leader when the deadly coronavirus hit. Thank goodness he went against the advice of political pundits and ignored criticism from political foes to shut down travel from China in late January. Thank goodness he used his business sense to deregulate and allow American companies like GM and My Pillow to alter production lines from automobiles & bedding to ventilators & cloth masks. Thank goodness he was willing to shut down one of the strongest economies in American history to save the lives of the American people. MEDIA MYTH #4 (Because liberals who are losing the argument always turn to this).

On November 25, 2015, during a campaign speech in South Carolina, Donald Trump mocked the disability of a reporter named Serge Kovaleski.

This is false. Donald Trump did not mock this man's disability. He did, however, make arm motions meant to mimic someone who is flustered, backpedaling, or losing a political argument.

They are the same arm motions Donald Trump has been seen making when referencing people such as bank presidents, a military general, Ted Cruz, and even while mimicking himself in a 2005 Larry King interview. Please click the linked videos below to see for yourself.

These arm motions seem to be a default impression habit of our president. You may not like how they look, but Donald Trump was not mocking the disability of a handicapped man. The MSM simply seized this opportunity to once again misrepresent Donald Trump, dismiss the intellect of viewers, and pander to emotion.

Brandon Straka, from the Campaign has famously pointed to this particular media incident as one of THE driving forces behind his eyes being opened to the dishonesty of the MSM. It led him to start a campaign that now has over 600k followers on Twitter and 500k followers on Facebook. Check out his video titled Hard Truth, Episode 1 below. It's phenomenal.

The intentional dishonesty and manipulation this incident demonstrates was just too much for Mr. Straka. It should be for all of us. I encourage you to LIKE and FOLLOW the Campaign and Brandon Straka. The man is courageous and eloquent.

MEDIA MYTH #3 - It's not actually a myth.

In an Access Hollywood tape from September of 2005, Donald Trump said extremely lewd comments about women, including "grab 'em by the p----".

This is true. We all heard the tape. The comments are inexcusable and disgusting in their entirety.

If you can honestly say that you have never said anything in a private conversation that, if secretly recorded & then released to the public, wasn’t embarrassing or insulting to a member of the opposite s*x, same s*x, neighbor, boss, colleague, or even friend, then you most definitely can use this bus conversation as a reason not to like or vote for Donald Trump. If you are like me and cannot, you must consider some grace.

What is also not a myth in this instance is the media and leftist hypocritical outrage that followed. If 1/2 of the outrage had been shown after the s*xual misconduct of then sitting President Bill Clinton and his 22 year old intern, then maybe we could take the left at their word. Instead, Monica Lewinsky was blamed and vilified, criticized and mocked - relentlessly.

One final note, President Trump did publicly and sincerely apologize for his comments. See the linked video here.

MEDIA MYTH #2 (Another big one!)

On June 16, 2015, during his Presidential announcement speech, and during a June 25, 2015 interview with Erin Burnett from CNN, Donald Trump called all Mexicans and immigrants coming from Mexico "ra**sts and murderers".

This is false. At no time in either statement did President Trump paint all immigrants with the broad brush of ra**st or murderer. At no time in either statement did President Trump claim all immigrants are bad. As a matter of fact, in both instances, Donald Trump said "some are good," but this part of both quotes is repeatedly omitted by the MSM and politicians on the left in an effort to misrepresent our president.

Direct quote, Presidential Announcement Speech, June 16, 2015: "When Mexico sends its people, they’re not sending their best. They’re not sending you. They’re not sending you. They’re sending people that have lots of problems, and they’re bringing those problems with us. They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re ra**sts. And some, I assume, are good people."

Direct quote, CNN Interview, June 25, 2015: "Some are good, some are ra**sts, some are killers."

Please note the screen shot of the CNN story below. While CNN did at least note Trump's use of the word "some," it is blatant misrepresentation to omit the first part of Trump's statement, "Some are good..."

While it is disturbing to acknowledge that people who enter this country illegally commit heinous crimes such as r**e and murder, it is, sadly, fact.

Ask the family of Kate Steinle, a 32 year old woman who was shot and killed in San Francisco by José Inez García Zárate on July 1, 2015. Garcia Zarate is an illegal, felon immigrant who had been deported 5 times at the time of the shooting.

Look at the kidnapping and murder of Mollie Tibbetts, a 20 year old college student who was followed, kidnapped, and killed by illegal immigrant Cristhian Bahena Rivera while out for an evening jog in rural Iowa on Aug. 21, 2018.

Or, visit the website of Congressman Steve King of IA, linked below. This site does a thorough job of detailing the reality behind Donald Trump's statements on some illegal immigrants.

Some illegal immigrants are good people. Some illegal immigrants are ra**sts. Some illegal immigrants are killers. Some illegal immigrants are drug dealers. This is what Donald J. Trump has said.

Finally, if you would like to hear President Trump's words for yourself, both video clips referenced in this post are included in the CNN interview with Erin Burnett linked below.

MEDIA MYTH #1 (And it's a BIG one!)

On Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2017, President Trump referred to Charlottesville Neo-Nazis and white nationalists as "very fine people".

He did not. President Trump unequivocally condemned the Neo-Nazis & white nationalists in this press conference, and has condemned these groups repeatedly since.

When President Trump said "very fine people" on Aug. 15, 2017, he was referring specifically to protesters who were in Charlottesville protesting the taking down of a Robert E. Lee statue.

The MSM has, for 3 years, used this quote to falsely push the narrative that Donald Trump is a racist. Numerous politicians, and even the Democrat candidates for President & Vice President, Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, have repeatedly stated that President Trump called Neo-Nazis and white nationalists "very fine people". This is simply false. It is a lie.

If you want to see for yourself, watch the full press conference from August 15, 2017 below. It is 16 minutes in length. If you don't have 16 minutes to spare, watch minutes 10:20 - 13:20. This is the section that has been continually used by the MSM and the left in their attempt to misrepresent our president.
