When we work with what each season / archetype brings with awareness, profound shifts happen.

Dancing with the shadow is not easy, but acutely necessary for growth and integration of all facets of oneself - a lifelong journey and discovery.

Scorpio’s depth leads to Sagittarius’ truth. And through the realms of the underworld we must go to find it. Like a gemstone on an alter in a crypt glowing brightly, hidden in the heart of hearts. We absorb its clarity and piercing beauty, and watch the ripple effects of truth shift the timeline.

The centaur reminds us to take what we have gleamed and aim sights in a new direction, one that feels right, more aligned with this new truth in our hearts. Weaving hope and possibility into every pore as we set off on a new adventure with a new vision.

Jupiter, the ruler, joins us as it turns direct expanding on all we set our sights upon.

May this new moon be the springboard you need to reignite possibility in everything you desire, with the optimism that is all possible.

Mercury enters Scorpio ☿♏︎
29th PDT / 30TH AEDT

Mercury exits peace-keeping Libra to enter investigative Scorpio. The messenger-planet will move through this sign in just shy of three weeks, stimulating our powers of observation, intensifying discussions, and proliferating the transmission of subversive subject matter. With Mercury in Scorpio, we crave meaning. If meaning is not apparent, we will go searching for it. If we cannot discover it, we may *invent* it! Naturally, this transit can awaken our inner conspiracy theorist, prompting us to read into situations that don’t warrant such severe scrutiny.

Yet going into depth territory can also help us develop closeness with others. Bonds can be solidified, and trust repaired, by divulging confidential information or acknowledging shared adversities. Intimacy can be forged through words, as well as silence. Knowing when to keep a secret can be just as significant as disclosing one.

However, the most interesting aspect of Mercury’s sojourn through Scorpio lies in its mutual reception with warrior-planet Mars! Mutual reception is a fancy term for two planets transiting the sign of each other’s domicile. Mars is currently in curious, quick-witted Gemini, a sign ruled by Mercury. And Mercury is transiting Scorpio, anciently ruled by Mars. In this dance, both planets assist one other in manifesting their attributes. Yet, because Mars is currently lingering on the precipice of its retrograde cycle, we should prepare to have a wrench or two thrown in the communication works as we navigate false starts and perspective shifts. Misplaced passion is a signature of this moment, as well as difficulty verbalizing what we know intuitively to be correct. The best course of action may be to take no action. The proverb "hear no evil, see no evil, speak no evil" is not about turning a blind eye or avoiding inconvenient truths, but of knowing that force tends to compound grief rather than alleviate it. Prudence is required now. Discretion is the real flex.

Sun enters Scorpio, and as we steadily advance towards October 25’s solar eclipse, the psychic seas begin to churn. Scorpio season promises to unravel the fraying safety nets we’ve clung to avoid a confrontation with our own numinous nature. As the veil thins, sensitivity to our innate magic is heightened. Engaging with the liminal might offer closure, or open up new caverns of experience to explore. For many, it is easier to investigate exoteric mysteries than to address the occulted dimensions of our own personality. What lies hidden within your personal depths? Treasure? Wreckage? Strange creatures? Scorpio season challenges our assumptions of how deeply we know ourselves. It dares us to confess secret truths and taboo desires, not as some form of masochism, but as a means to illumination and subsequently, radical self-empowerment.

Scorpio season demands intimacy; intimacy with others yes, but more importantly, intimacy with our shadows, the spectral contents of our unconscious mind. Endeavoring intimacy with our shadows is no easy feat. Once we acknowledge them, we have to own them, and by owning them, we risk subjecting ourselves to public scrutiny. Like sporting a Scarlet Letter, embracing our shadows may reveal that we are imperfect or flawed, that we have experienced trauma or wrestled with vices, and that we have scars which haven’t healed. That we are only human. The allowance for human fragility is a type of ego death, an acceptance of our own mortality. Yet in death there is rebirth. We must die to one conception of self so that a new conception can be brought into existence. Bodies are interred, but so are seeds.

Progress is evident, and the gates are opening to let us move forward with newfound motivation. Have you felt stagnant over the last few months, wondering if its laziness or a new form of depression? Saturn tends to withhold advancements in the earthly realm during its retrograde motion and for those of us who thrive off accomplishment could have felt the brunt of Saturn retrograde the most.
 
Breaking through the roadblocks, the mental blocks, and blocks of the heart.
 
Holding on to anything solid or feeling grounded while planning out large projects may have been futile as the planet of crystallization was doing the work to deconstruct insecurity and self-doubt. The inner work that goes into a Saturn rx cycle is necessary for any form of progress to be seen on the outside. Without the balance of inner and outer re-structuring you run the risk of going in circles, repeating the same patterns.
 
The dance between the Sun / Saturn teaches us the occasional necessity for ego deconstruction. Sun meets Saturn on November 10th for its first interaction after turning direct, this is a pinnacle moment to check in with the self. What parts of your psyche have evolved since June 4th regarding your beliefs around success and self-worth? How do you engage with others you see as more successful as you?
 
If you have planets, especially the Sun in Ta**us, Leo, Scorpio, or Aquarius, these couple of weeks will bring profound illumination of the innate qualities and behaviors you are ready to change. Your attitudes towards others, authority, teachers, fathers, and world views have gone through a maturation process. A new framework has been granted with which to manage our immediate environment. You know what it takes to prosper, it is now time to corporealize it.
