‘ALL PINOYS TO GET P2,000 AYUDA UNDER BAYANIHAN 3’

NEWS UPDATE: All 110 million Filipinos will receive “ayuda” or cash aid of P2,000 each under the Bayanihan to Arise as One Act or Bayanihan 3 law being deliberated in Congress.

The all-inclusive cash aid will cover the rich, the poor and those in the middle class and will be distributed in two tranches under the P405.6-billion measure, its proponents said.

Reps. Sharon Garin and Stella Quimbo, both economists and members of the technical working group that drafted the consolidated Bayanihan 3 bill, said this proposed fourth ayuda program seeks to provide equitable distribution of financial assistance across social classes.

The AAMBIS-OWA party-list representative said the bill also includes programs to boost existing social services, including financial support for displaced workers and families in areas under strict lockdowns. | via PhilStar

restobars seen to bounce back

Young entrepreneur Gabb Pensader, owner of the famous Grill Up Resto Bar says the industry will soon recover after the local government unit has lifted the liquor ban on May 1. Pensader also reminded customers to strictly observe standard health and safety protocols. Restobars are allowed to operate at a maximum capacity of 50% while curfew hours from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. still in effect.

SENIOR CITIZEN DECLARED DEAD ON ARRIVAL AFTER FAINTING WHILE WAITING IN LINE FOR A COMMUNITY PANTRY IN QC

LOOK: A senior citizen died on Friday morning after passing out while waiting in line in a community pantry to get free food in Quezon City, the Barangay Holy Spirit Police Station said.

Based on a police report, the male elderly was waiting to get food in the community pantry when he fainted at around 9 a.m. He was rushed to the East Avenue Medical Center where he was declared dead on arrival around 9:20 a.m.

Holy Spirit Police Station commander Police Colonel Jeffrey Bilaro said that the senior citizen died of heart attack.

On a separate report, Quezon City Task Force Disiplina said the senior citizen had been waiting in line as early as 2 a.m. | via GMA News

Tourism Secretary Bernadette Romulo-Puyat says she will push for the resumption of travel in Metro Manila and surrounding provinces after the modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ) is lifted on April 30. Puyat, however, said DOT will listen to the decision of medical experts in the next meeting of the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF). “Of course, we are hoping that travel can be resumed and those in the National Capital Region can travel. Most destinations require test before travel.”

Angeles City has recorded 108 new COVID-19 cases on Wednesday, April 21, the highest single-day increase, bringing total number of active cases to 901. Some 4,073 confirmed cases were recorded in the city. Of this number, 2,977 recovered and 195 have died.

Ayon sa nagpost ng photo na si Kaydee Magsino-Santiago, buong araw na subsob sa trabaho ang dalawang nursing attendants at humiga lamang ng 10 minuto pasado ala-1 ng madaling araw.

Nananawagan si Santiago sa publiko na ingatan ang sarili dahil hindi biro ang sakit na COVID-19.

Caught our Nursing attendants at 1 AM taking a quick rest and I am not even sure if it really was a rest. Took them only minutes, got back to work with no sleep, drenched in sweat under their PPEs.

I have seen them work the entire day, from cleaning and disinfecting of rooms to transporting patients from one floor to the other. From changing diapers to changing oxygen tanks of countless patients. From “Doctora, i patient makanini mababa ne O2 sat” (Doctora, si patient ganito mababa na O2 sat) to “Doctora, mitas ne O2 sat i Patient” (Doctora, tumaas na O2 sat ni Patient).

From janitorial, to nursing aid to medical work (helping us monitor patients), I have seen how committed our Nursing attendants are. But you know what is best about them, they are filling in what every COVID-19 patient needs, a family member. I have seen them interact and treat each patient as their own. I have seen how patients appreciate each one of them. This time I am sure kasi mismong Patients nagsasabi sa akin na sobra nila naappreciate sila Sir.

They are our unsung heroes. They are the unseen essential workers. They are my heroes. I can’t imagine working in the Pandemic without them. They work with a low wage yet give the best of their efforts. Huhu. The best kayo, Sir! Wala ako narinig o nakitang reklamo sa inyo. Saludo ako sa inyo Sir Ronnie and Sir Jazzel and all the other workforce behind this battlefield. A thank you will not be enough but know that behind every patient sent home, a huge part was because of you💛

Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Assistant Secretary Dominique Tutay says they will hold virtual job fairs to give employment opportunities to Filipinos amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Said Tutay: “We are already preparing for a massive job fair for May 1. It will be different this time due to the pandemic, where mass gatherings are prohibited.”

Glovax Biotech Corporation president Giovanni Alingog says businessman Manuel V. Pangilinan, chairman of Metro Pacific Investments Corp. (MPIC) has committed to invest in their proposed P7.5 billion vaccine manufacturing project in the Philippines.

Said Alingog: “MVP said in our zoom meeting yesterday that he is agreeing to support Glovax vaccine plant as a lasting support to the Filipinos and in support to Pres. Duterte in his fight against COVID-19.”

Glovax is one of the four vaccine manufacturing project proponents in the country.
