I have been a *little* busy …. Finally Mrs. Jennifer Alvarez!

Planning, paying, and organizing a wedding was A LOT of work !

It’s done, we are married, and now I can focus on my financial content!

All of the wedding costs and my current finances are coming! So excited to share how I saved money and the things I did that were a little *different* than normal to keep costs down!

Both of my parents did a lot for my siblings and I.

I always saw the sacrifice my mom made and she NEVER complained, at least not in front of me.

Here I stand, doubting myself and my content. Thinking about giving up, “it’s too much” “I’m tired”. All of the negative talk can really stop you in your tracks.

I believe my story is a need, so I’m going to continue pushing through, and so should you if your stuck in a negative funk!

Not only is today March 1st, it’s also the start of Women’s history month.

As I started to content plan, I decided that I wanted to highlight the superhero women from the past and present, especially women in finance.

I have so many new friends on here I figured I would re-introduce myself (cue Jay Z)

I started my financial journey in 2018, before that I was a huge emotional spender and I had about $10,000 in credit card debt, $3,500 in school loans, and A LOT of collections.
I was freshly out of a negative, toxic, and mental abusive relationship (inspiration for the video on this post).
Getting good with money was a MUST. I had to figure it out, I was a single mother struggling to make ends meet.

This is when I started documenting my journey on

With much trial and error, learning, researching, working hard, and living below my means, I have paid over $20,000 in debt, saved a 6 month income emergency fund, increased my credit score to surpass 700, and increased my income.

Let’s just say letting go of unnecessary baggage that holds you back can do WONDERS for your future.
