Talk Finances To Me I help women manage their money, organize their finances, and generate generational wealth.

06/02/2021

I have so many new friends on here I figured I would re-introduce myself (cue Jay Z)

I started my financial journey in 2018, before that I was a huge emotional spender and I had about $10,000 in credit card debt, $3,500 in school loans, and A LOT of collections.
I was freshly out of a negative, toxic, and mental abusive relationship (inspiration for the video on this post).
Getting good with money was a MUST. I had to figure it out, I was a single mother struggling to make ends meet.

This is when I started documenting my journey on

With much trial and error, learning, researching, working hard, and living below my means, I have paid over $20,000 in debt, saved a 6 month income emergency fund, increased my credit score to surpass 700, and increased my income.

Let’s just say letting go of unnecessary baggage that holds you back can do WONDERS for your future.

Welcome everyone, I am blessed to be able to share my story, my tips, and my insight on personal finance.

Happy Friday y’all 💜

Happy December 🎄

My name is Jennifer and I love talking about, dancing about, posting about, thinking about, Personal Finance 💜

Here are some quick facts about me:

🎄Im 30 years YOUNG 😩
🎄Happily engaged with my best friend
🎄I am a mom to 2 sons and 2 bonus daughters 💝
🎄My favorite thing to do is travel with our kids and experience new places 😍
🎄I started because of the mistakes that I made in my 20’s with money and I WISHED there was someone who could help!
🎄Along with money mistakes, I had no clue that being in the wrong relationship would actually hinder my wealth (that’s why I love talking about money and relationships, too)
🎄My favorite place to be other than Instagram is Tiktok 😂

Happy Wednesday y’all! 🌻

Happy Thanksgiving 2020

Even though I mainly talk about personal finance, I have to show my reason to keep pushing. My why, the reason I don’t give up.

Even though this picture is missing two beautiful girls, all 5 of them are my why to reach financial freedom.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Addressing Disparities in Finance for Hispanics and Latinos. I had the honor of including my personal experience with disparities as a Latina for Money Geek. (Article is linked in bio)

Financial freedom, building generational wealth, and creating different income streams, for me, was not taught nor explained.

My mom and her siblings were the first generation to go to school in the United States. Prior to her, her parents came from Puerto Rico, and prior to her parents, their family came from Spain.

My mom always taught me to save, pay off debt, and spend only what I could afford, and for that I am grateful. Being able to share this information to the world and creating financial literacy in the process is exactly what I feel called to pursue.

Toxic relationships can make you BROKE! I experienced a toxic relationship that ALWAYS had an impact on my financial situation!

Along with fighting for our worth with our income, as women we need to set ourselves up for success with our money management and wealth building as well!

If we can’t handle your money before a raise, more money isn’t going to help us 🤷🏻‍♀️

Here’s to you being a bad*ss with your money, business, employment, relationships, EVERYTHING !

Love you 💜 Happy Friday y’all 🌻

The look I give when Latinas are finally getting their worth!

Did you know that today marks the day that Latinas have finally caught up to what the average white male earned in 2019 alone?

It takes Latinas 22 months to catch up to what the average white male made in just 12 months.

Latina mother’s earn 55% less than white father do.

Latinas are paid $0.67 for every $1 that white men are paid, regardless of education, experience, where they live, or who they know.

Today, women working full-time in the United States still earn 79 cents for every dollar a man earns. That is only 20 cents more than in 1963. It took 50 years !!!

According to the National Women’s Law Center, Latinas must obtain a bachelor’s degree or more before their typical wages exceed those of white, non-Hispanic men without a bachelor’s degree per

50, 30, or even 10 years is way too long!

Today I recognize and support each and every Latina.

If I can still have the luxurious things, I’ll still have them though. I’m just saying this for a friend 💁🏻‍♀️

*If these things bring you joy, that’s 100% ok*
What have you stopped buying that you no longer enjoy ?

05/08/2020

My goal for the end of this year is to reach a net worth of $75,000.

Never in a million years would I have imagined having a positive net worth.

I Lived the paycheck to paycheck lifestyle for most of my early twenties. It was hard, not to mention I was NOT financially literate.

The only thing I wanted to achieve was to make it to the next payday.

Sometimes I laugh at those memories because at this point in my life, that’s all I could really do. Instead of beating myself up and regretting my past decisions with money, I laugh 🤭😅🤣

Little steps in the right direction lead to success. I’m glad I chose to turn my finances around when I did.

Happy Tuesday y’all !

True or true? Both situations are hard to live with, might as well get good with money, generate more streams of income, and learn how to build generational wealth 🤷🏻‍♀️

03/08/2020

The fact that the majority of this debt is my car loan *kind of* makes me happy lol.

Knowing that I am no longer paying crazy high interest on any credit card calms my spirit.

Total debt consists of:

1. Car loan
2. Student loan
3. PNC transfer Credit card

Happy Monday y’all!

Just some sacrifices I made at the beginning of my debt free journey. Oh the sacrifices! 🤷🏻‍♀️🙋🏻‍♀️

July numbers! I really wanted to be under the $30,000 mark by paying off our balance transfer CC. We live in Florida and we work in the south Florida region where all of the increases of COVID cases are rising.

With the influx of cases and having no idea what will happen as far as shutting the state down again, we have decided to keep the money in our high yield savings account until we see some sort of positive progress.

This balance transfer CC is not generating ANY interest. I also have my student loan and a car loan.

The positive: we have decreased our debt by $602!

Happy Thursday y’all !
