Sen. Okpebholo Pays Off Medical Bill for Ailing AAU Student (Video)
..a kind gesture that stems from his naturality signals new hope for Edo people

Senator Monday Okpebholo (Akpakomiza) ended the peaceful protest of the students of Ambrose Alli University (AAU) yesterday. The protest was initiated to appeal for financial support for an ailing student -Mr. Iyekeoretin Etinosa Raymond, who has been battling stage 5 chronic kidney disease.

Funds for transplant were sourced from kind hearted Nigerians but the balance of N6,000,000 was needed to complete the payment. It was at this point the students of AAU sought the support of the state government but to no avail. They therefore resorted to "fund raising protests" on the streets. As God will have it, Senator Monday Okpebholo, the APC Candidate for the Edo Gubernatorial Election 2024 while driving through the same route saw them, came down from his vehicle, paid off the N6000,000 and added additional N1,000,000 for the patient's upkeep.

This is the NATURALITY of Akpakomiza in full display. He understands our pains and he is always ready to address them.

The man whom the Edo people trust will get Edo working again when he becomes the Governor.

A vote for Senator Monday Okpebholo is a vote for the Edo we can be proud of.

"I met my husband in Enugu, he was a youth corper then in Enugu. I was also posted to Enugu. So a friend of mine visited me and she came along with her boyfriend who also came along with my husband. That was how we met and it was love at first sight. I think people frown at love at first sight but it worked for us.
I fell in love with his broad shoulders. Then he was really looking very cute. I can still remember what he was wearing that day – a red shirt, long sleeves and jeans trousers. That was 37 years ago. He couldn’t even take me out because he didn’t have money as a youth corper. It was quite magnetic and that was it.
There is a 3-year age difference between us. I am older than him anyway. I was like 25 then while he was 22. It was love that really endured. I had graduated and in my place (Owerri) when a girl graduates from the University suitors come from left, right and centre. And your parents would expect you to go for a made man with everything, but I have always known that there was no way I could have married a self-made man. I will better build a home from the scratch with you because I want to have a say in my home"

American rapper and actor, Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr, popularly known as Snoop Dogg, has announced his decision to quit smoking.

The rapper, who disclosed on an exclusive preview of Martha Stewart's iHeartRadio podcast in 2022 that he started smoking at the age of 18, stated thoughtful consideration and discussions with his family as reasons for this decision.

Making the announcement on his X account on Thursday, the 52-year-old artist emphasised the importance of respecting his privacy during this time.

In the post, he said, "After much consideration and conversation with my family, I've decided to give up smoke. Please respect my privacy at this time."

Snoop Dogg rose to fame in 1992 with his feature on Dr. Dre's debut solo single, "Deep Cover," followed by his contributions to Dre's debut solo album, 'The Chronic.;

The former Aspirant in the just concluded Local Government election in Edo state, who was denied clearance by PDP, Mrs Stella Alli Ukhurebor, has defected to the APC in Ekpoma, Esan West Local Government Area of Edo state, as she moves with popular Elder Palmer and Barr. Udoh who were former Ward Chairman and former councilor respectively in ward 04, including excellent women group and a host of others.

The ceremony which took place in the Local Government Secretariat of the APC in Bore hole junction, Ekpoma, had in attendance party executives and leaders across various wards in the Local Government.

You would remember that Mrs Stella Alli Ukhurebor who was an Aspirant in the last Local Government election in Edo State was disqualified by the PDP with no clear explanation of why she was disqualified even when it was said she was disqualified because she didn't win her unit in the previous election which made the public to raise alarm as others who also didn't win their units and ward in the previous election were surprisingly cleared and not disqualified.

EDO 2024: IT IS MARTINS 'O CLOCK.

In the words of the great scholar, Peter Drucker, he said "time is one of the most conscious thing to man, yet it remains the least utilised". This is one area posing huge challenge to humanity. Relating to this to issues of politics and governance, this is a very fundamental area wherein most of our politicians has missed it. When one is elected as either a governor or President, he has a constitutional four years mandate to map out strategy on how to pull the electorates out of their quagmire. If he is lucky and gets reelected, it means he has eight good years to right whatever wrong his capacity can carry.

But in Nigeria, our politicians doesn't work based on the allotted time they are given. Instead of getting involved in projects that has human face and that can benefit the people, what they do is to put up white elephants projects, whose completion cannot even been projected. At the expiration of their tenure, they would come up with very mundane excuse that they didn't have enough time, hence the projects became abandoned. This sad development is very common among our leaders. The bad culture impede development. If I may ask, where were they for the good eight years the constitution allows them?

As we look forward to Edo 2024, IT IS MARTINS O' CLOCK. The man Martins Azekhumhen Okoukoni, a labour Party Gubernatorial Aspirant is the one with the Midas touch that can refurbished all the intricacies in the state. He represents a new paradigm in Edo State politics. He is well versed in administration and has huge exposure necessary to revamp our state economy and bridge the gap between the rich and the poor. When this aspirant is nominated and subsequently elected as Governor of Edo, come next year, the era of the following would be over;
" White elephant projects with zero completion potency
* Mass unemployment, especially amongst our ever ready dynamic youths
* Looting of the treasury
* Favouritism and tribalism
* Lack of focus
* Abandoned projects
* Irregular payment of salary and arears, etc.

Lets join hands and make this ambition work. With Martins at the helm of affairs in Edo, it is as good as our state is in safe hands.

Biography

Born at St Philomena Hospital, Benin City, Nigeria. On January 9th 1983 into the family of Mr and Mrs Okoukoni.

Mr Okoukoni was raised by his paternal grandmother from his home town Uromi, where he attended all necessary education from primary school to university. Growing up as a young intelligent boy, he was and still is a dedicated Christian.

Mr. Okoukoni is happily married to his lovely wife and blessed with three lovely children both living together.

In 2010, Mr Okoukoni gained admission into a foreign university abroad, where he studied and earned degrees across various universities including The United Kingdom

In 2014 Martins Okoukoni started working with a project management and analysis team for an organisational project implementation and quality control.

In 2015 Mr. Okoukoni started working as a sales representative for a company that provides solar energy for eligible homes in the United Kingdom, contracted by the United Kingdom government, an initiative that aims to reduce air pollution and encourage people to an alternative source of energy.

In 2018, Mr. Okoukoni later resigned and founded a company “Recruitment Generals Ltd” an establishment that focused on creating jobs and assisting the unemployed people in the United Kingdom to find suitable jobs.

Mr Okoukoni is the current chief executive officer of Recruitment Generals Ltd, and he is also a recruitment consultant to many companies around the world.

As a practising healthcare professional, Mr Okoukoni is a registered member of NMC United Kingdom.

As part of Mr. Okoukoni's efforts to create social value through the reduction of social inequalities and charging the government of Nigeria to improve the welfare of Nigerians, by providing policy enabled environment for Nigerians to strive, and bridge the gap between the rich and the poor, Mr. Okoukoni set up a social media platform known as the New Nigeria Movement where he champions as a social activist.

In 2017 Mr Okoukoni set up now known as Okoukoni Care Foundation as a means to reach out to the less privileged in Nigerian societies. Okoukoni Care Foundation over the years has supported the less privileged by providing funding for tuition fees, enrolment of WAEC, NECO, startup businesses and many more.

Mr Okoukoni is nicknamed “Social Boy” due to his continued efforts to ensure government policies are channelled toward creating a standard social value where everyone matters and where everyone can achieve aims and objectives.
