Another major milestone on our build -
We poured the concrete slab this weekend, thanks to Alex, Jason & Nick and Scott running the Pump truck, great work chaps and an awesome finished slab.
(Slab is the sub floor and wall foundation in one, its on top of 21, 5 metre deep piles and over a tonne of steel work... )

Time lapse video of our Big Build Saturday - Here we see about 60% of the steel work build for our slab foundation / sub floor.
There's just over a tonne of steel mesh sheet and U shape re-bars for the edges - Massive thanks to Al and Charlie without whom this would not have been possible... :-)

After months of demolition, and site clearance today marked the first day of actual build and the first real sense this could actually happen! - So our foundation is piled so we can keep our near by trees without worry about heave or subsidence and actually is cost effective, practical solution with a fraction of the excavation required with traditional trench foundation. Mark Mitchell Piling Ltd have been great - Many thanks to Mark and lads for great, smooth no fuss first day... Highly recommended. :-)

Studio update:
Its been a while but I felt the next post should be something significant...
Things have been happening in the background - plans, granting our planning permission etc.
Even the parking/drive changes but this feels like a real milestone. Removing the roof from the old buiding
was always going to be a challenge - Partly as the exiting timbers looked like they could collapse at any time
and also due to the material the roof sheets were made from.

Huge thanks to my family - son-in law, Al, my son Charlie and grandson Jay - Lost Tribe 'demo' dream team :-)

The roof was safely removed Sunday and most of the roof timbers removed too - over the next 2-3 weeks the rest will come down
ready for the all new building foundation. watch this space for more updates.

Had some glitches sharing - but just a reminder that tomorrow, Friday 27th is the Mr Griff launch gig. Really looking forward to this, highly recommended - Great support line up too :-) (Loved the radio interviews and sneak preview tracks from the new album - which sounds awesome BTW :-))

Sunday recording session with ‘Out Beyond Alice’ - Our second ‘seven’ piece band to record live in the studio. Great sounding band playing an eclectic mix of cover tunes. Looking forward to mixing the songs later this week.

So enjoyed our Sunday recording session with the fabulous Mr Griff, they brought the sunshine to match their awesome, uplifting original tunes. Making the intricate and challenging look consummately easy, and all in temperatures of 30 dgrs at times. Troopers!
