So, the Pike Township Board wants to triple its own pay — from about $7,700 to nearly $22,000 a year — plus full benefits.
Two of the three members pushing the raise have a trail of court judgments and debt cases, and the third is leading the charge. The kicker? Indiana law says they can’t even collect the raise until 2029, and the Indianapolis City-County Council would still have to sign off on it.
It’s politically tone-deaf, legally moot, and just plain audacious.
