So, the Pike Township Board wants to triple its own pay — from about $7,700 to nearly $22,000 a year — plus full benefits.

Two of the three members pushing the raise have a trail of court judgments and debt cases, and the third is leading the charge. The kicker? Indiana law says they can’t even collect the raise until 2029, and the Indianapolis City-County Council would still have to sign off on it.

It’s politically tone-deaf, legally moot, and just plain audacious.

For years, Micah Beckwith railed against “groomers” in the LGBTQ+ community. But the biggest grooming and child exploitation case tied to his world isn’t coming from a Pride parade — it’s coming from his own orbit.

Things are heating up in Pike Township.
Two board members — Kendra Perkins and Demetrice Hicks — have recent civil judgments against them even as the board moved to raise its own pay, add health insurance, and appropriate $70,000 to hire its own lawyer.
But Trustee Annette Johnson says she won’t sign the budget, meaning no raises, no personnel cuts, and no new counsel.
And here’s the kicker: under Uni-Gov, even if she did, the City-County Council would have to approve the raise — and our sources say that’s not happening.

What We’re Hearing: Gov. Braun hasn’t met with Senate Republicans on redistricting. And if a vote were held today, it would fail by more than single digits in the Senate.

Hoosiers are speaking up — again. Nearly 20,000 signatures later, opposition to mid-decade redistricting is no longer just noise; it’s a statewide chorus. With pressure mounting on Governor Mike Braun, the question isn’t whether people are paying attention — it’s whether state leaders are. 👀
