Position: Volunteer Ambassador
Organization: Deaf Jam Project
Location: In Bedford, UK (remote working available)
Hours ( min 2 per week )
Over 18 only 🔞

About Deaf Jam Project:
Deaf Jam Project is a community-based organization dedicated to creating a supportive and inclusive environment for young people particularly those who are deaf, disabled, or hearing impaired. Our mission is to provide opportunities for personal and artistic growth, foster community engagement, and celebrate the diverse talents of our participants.
Responsibilities:
- Engage with local secondary schools, colleges, and universities to identify young people interested in the music industry and the Deaf Jam Project.
- Assist in the recruitment process by conducting informative sessions and gathering feedback from potential candidates.
- Support the Deaf Jam Project team in organizing and facilitating workshops, DJ sessions, creative sessions, and vocal sessions.
- Foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere by actively promoting diversity and equal opportunities.
- Participate in group orientation exercises to build rapport and develop a cohesive group dynamic.
- Assist participants in developing their creative skills, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Engage with participants in a respectful and inclusive manner, ensuring effective communication with individuals who have communication difficulties, intellectual disabilities, autism, or hearing impairments.
- Help create a safe and supportive environment where participants can express themselves and grow as individuals.
Requirements:
- Passion for working with young people and individuals with disabilities.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with diverse groups.
- Knowledge or interest in the music industry is a plus.
- Sensitivity and respect for individuals from different cultural backgrounds and experiences.
- Commitment to inclusivity, equal opportunities, and safeguarding principles.
- Availability to attend the Deaf Jam Project workshops and activities during the specified dates (to be communicated).
- Willingness to complete a full day of induction training provided by Deaf Jam Project.
