"I had always wanted to dance, long before Strictly was on our television screens, but I never had a chance as a child, mostly because I was considered too shy for lessons. Consequently, as an adult I did not have the confidence: I was clumsy, knew I would fail. From the 6th - 12th we celebrate Dyspraxia and use this opportunity to raise awareness to those outside of our community, at schools, workplaces, and to our friends and loved ones!

On the Magazine page you will be able to scroll through and see a series of posters that have been made thanks to the input from our community, either with feedback and requests via direct messages and emails or via feedback obtained by the numerous questionnaires that go out every year.

Unfortunately this year I (Krystal) have experienced some events that have been very emotionally challenging for me and resulted in burnout, meaning I have been unable to go ahead with planning events like I did last year. I know this will be disappointing for many of you, please know that I feel the weight of that and share that disappointment.

But the magazine is not the only organisation within our community and I will be sharing links to other events that have been shared with me. And I encourage you, as members of the community, to attend these events and support their amazing work.

While I may not have the spoons to run events, I can still make posters in my down time and would love to create one based on your inputs. So with that said, I'd love to know:

đź’™ A Personal Update on Dyspraxia Awareness Week & the Magazine đź’™

I want to take a moment to apologise to those waiting on email replies from me regarding Dyspraxia Magazine and Dyspraxia Awareness Week, which begins next week.

The truth is, the past few months have been an emotional time for me. Plans and schedules haven’t worked out the way I’d hoped, and I’ve been finding it difficult to keep up with everything — not because of a lack of enthusiasm or interest from speakers, but because I’ve been struggling with executive function and emotional barriers.

I really want Dyspraxia Awareness Week to succeed again this year, but I need to be honest about my capacity. At the moment, I’m not sure how much I can take on through the magazine. Please, if you are hosting an event, send me the details so I can share them on the website and socials. That way, even if I can’t organise as much as I’d like, I can still help amplify the brilliant work being done across our community.

I know this may feel disappointing, and I feel the weight of that too. But I’ve realised that I’ve been trying to run this project as if it had a large team and budget, when in reality it’s just me, with ad-hoc support from kind friends when they’re able.

I want to give the dyspraxia community as much as I can, but I also need to remind myself that I can only do so much. Thank you all for your patience, kindness, and understanding — it means more than I can say.
