America: A Nation Defined by Its Own Choices
Look around. The chaos, the division, the mediocrity—it’s not a fluke. It’s not the fault of "the system." It’s us. America’s leaders are nothing more than a reflection of the people who put them there, a mirror held up to a nation that has abandoned intelligence, civic responsibility, and decency.
We are a country of uninformed voters who mistake social media posts for research and memes for facts. People proudly flaunt their ignorance while refusing to lift a finger to understand the issues that govern their own lives. Civic apathy runs rampant—millions don’t even bother to vote, and those who do often cast ballots based on the loudest slogan or the most enraged tweet.
Our obsession with outrage has turned politics into a circus, and we, the audience, can’t get enough of the spectacle. Meanwhile, the ugliness of our culture—our selfishness, our refusal to listen, our inability to compromise—has been carved into our leadership, reflecting exactly who we’ve become: a society too lazy to care, too foolish to think, and too ugly to admit it.
America is not a victim of bad leaders. America chose them. They didn’t create the problems—they are the result of them.
Until we take responsibility, educate ourselves, and care about something bigger than our own egos, the cycle will continue. Want change? Start by looking in the mirror.
