A Shepherdess Psalm:
I am my own shepherd
I want, and then I strive to gain.
No one makes me lie down, for there is no time to rest.
I once longed for still waters in my ever stormy existence, but my hopelessness refreshes nothing.
I walk these paths of life, often alone, for the sake of my legacy and pride.
These paths have led to many dark places as evil beckons my heart, as anxiety drives me, to run.
I run to keep ahead of my fears and ultimately, death.
My mighty rod now brings discomfort to any who would threaten my kingdom, even those I loved once.
I look across this massive table I have set, and no one comes to sup with me. Yet my enemies await outside the room.
My future is evermore unsure, my cup remains half empty.
Surely my evil heart will overcome and suffocate me more and more all the days of my life.
And I will dwell in regret when I lay my head to rest, tonight and forever.

God has blessed us, indeed! We have been given eternal life through the blessing of Jesus Christ’s sacrifice. We have been given hope in this world because Christ has come, is coming again and will redeem everything. We have been given the Holy Spirit to counsel and comfort us through anything we face. We have been given the Fruit of the Spirit to enjoy life and bless others. We have been given God’s Word the Bible to guide us and help us mature. We have been given forgiveness and a new life that we may shake free from what bound us. We have been given purpose and God’s will to know which way to go forward. AND, we have been given each other, the Church to promote and expand God’s Kingdom here on earth, all the while finding comfort in the love of our brothers and sisters. We are BLESSED, indeed! Now go bless somebody!
