Singer, songwriter, and actress, Mary J. Blige often referred to as the "Queen of Hip-Hop Soul" and "Queen of R&B", has won nine Grammy Awards, a Primetime Emmy Award, four American Music Awards, twelve NAACP Image Awards, and twelve Billboard Music Awards, including the Billboard Icon Award. In 1992, at the start of her career, her first song “You Remind Me” peaked at 29 on the charts. “Sweet Thing” was the fourth song to chart back then. Originally the song was released as a cassette single before MCA Records decided to release the single on vinyl. On an estimate, limited pressing runs of100,000 to 500,000 units were made possible for worldwide distribution. From the 90s to current, Blige’s career expanded and reached more than one mountaintop.

CEMA Special Markets was the division which handled licensing of recordings by Capitol-EMI artists, and also distributed jukebox singles.The name CEMA stood for the four EMI owned labels it originally distributed: Capitol Records, EMI Records, Manhattan Records and Angel Records. In 1992, CEMA Special Markets developed a special series for jukebox only vinyl. Hit songs released on a cassette or CD transitioned to jukebox vinyl recordings. In 1996, the hit “I’m Getting Used to You” by Selena became a Jukebox Only special release. So to all you record collectors out there who have this jukebox special in the collection, the 45 vinyl value averages $6 to $13 in trade. Best wishes to hunting down jukebox favorites!

Promos go back as far as the 40s the era of the 78 rpm. Promos of the late 60s, stereo on vinyl began to appear. Compared to mono (monaural), stereo had better sound quality. In this segment, 45 spin introduces out of many promos as collectibles, the first in a compiled collection of unique promos. Remember collecting promos has a unique history behind it. Promos once were the introduction to new listening material, which played the airwaves on AM/FM radios. Promotional vinyl 45s, the norm, the record had two sides, however, a one sided record would be released. Unusual as they are, the pressing and alternate tracking make this vinyl unique. To an enthusiast or collector, a Promo in a collection can maintain its value $$$ through out the course of time and during departing time ensure what is traded for cash is a creditable/reliable source.
