Mosotho Moepya is the current Chairperson of the Independent Electoral Commission(IEC) of South Africa since October 2022. Within the Electoral Commission, he has risen through the ranks first as a staff, Director, CEO, Commissioner and now chair , with a great experience in electoral management in Africa and around the world. He led the IEC's team that provided technical assistance to the Democratic Republic of Congo during its first democratic elections in 2006 and provide expertise in other parts of the world.

Since 2004, Mr Mosotho has had a very special relationship with Rev. Apollinaire Malumalu, former President of the CENI/ DRC and First President of ECES, as well as with Fabio Bargiacchi, Founder and Executive Director of ECES, whose primary focus was on peace, democracy and the organisation of credible elections in Africa and especially in the Southern Africa Region within the Electoral Commission Forum of the Southern Africa Development Community.
Before starting his career in election management in 1998, Moepya held senior positions in the private sector.

The brochure of the project “Promotion of Peace and Cohesion in Kenya by Preventing and Mitigating Electoral Conflicts” (Pro Peace Kenya) is available online on the project website.

The brochure contains a resume of all the information related to the project. The project is financed by the European Union and will implement activities to strengthen existing workaround conflict prevention through the implementation of the National Cohesion and Integration Commission’s (NCIC) “Road Map for Peaceful Elections in Kenya” and addressing important gaps ahead of the general elections scheduled to take place on 09 August 2022.
ECES will be the primary implementer of the project, whose activities have goal to promote peace, cohesion and political dialogue and to prevent, mitigate and manage conflicts and political and election-related conflict and violence ahead of the new electoral cycle in Kenya.
