➡️ When his father was mercilessly shot by the police in 1993, Juan Pablo Escobar was only a teenager.

The Colombian trafficker was hunted for years as American forces supported Colombia's "war on drugs".

Despite the absence of proof, conspiracy theorists have long maintained that the American government was somehow connected to the drug lord.

But in his memoir, Juan, who now goes by the name Sebastián Marroquín, makes similar shocking allegations.

💬 He said: "In my book, I tell the story of my father working for the CIA selling co***ne to finance the fight against communism in Central America.

💬 "What the CIA was doing was negotiating an amazing bargain on the controls to get the drug into their country.”

💬 He continued: “He did not make the money alone, but with US agencies that allowed him access to this money. He had direct relations with the CIA."

👉 Is Area 51 a secret code name?

Why this area, which the government only officially recognized in 2013, became designated as Area 51 isn’t exactly known, but diagrams from the 1960s refer to it as Area 51.

It’s thought this number was used by the now-dissolved Atomic Energy Commission in its grid naming system for the land. Nearby is the Nellis Air Force Base, which has conducted “safety experiments” designated and numbered as Areas, e.g., Area 13.

So, the truth is out there: the “51” in Area 51 does not refer to the 51st flying saucer found in Nevada. 🛸👽

It was 1972 and in the United States, there was a tense electoral campaign between Republican President Richard Nixon, who was seeking re-election, and Democrat George McGovern.

Five months after the vote, an unnoticed incident happened. In the early hours of June 17, five men, four of them of Cuban origin, were arrested inside the modern Watergate apartment complex in Washington, the headquarters of the Democratic Party.

The assailants wore gloves, portable radios, and electronic equipment, but initially, this was taken as an attempted robbery. However, brought to court, it was revealed that one of them, James McCord, belonged to the committee for the re-election of the president, the operation created by Nixon to stay in the White House for four more years.

This raised the suspicions of two Washington Post journalists -now legendary Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein-, who did not stop until they proved that this apparent robbery was in fact an espionage operation involving the highest officials of the White House, including Nixon himself.

Although he was re-elected in November 1972, by a large margin of votes, two years later he was forced to resign before the weight of evidence.

The Watergate scandal went down in history as an icon of investigative journalism.📑✒️

March 1962. Cold War. 🌎

The US Joint Chiefs of Staff sent draft plans to the US Secretary of Defense that included attacking a US military installation and conducting terrorist attacks in US cities.

Under the secret name Operation Northwoods, these and other incidents were "False Flags" operations: staged events to cast responsibility on Castro's Cuba.

The United States would thus be justified in launching a military invasion of Cuba in retaliation for Cuba's "aggression," eliminating a Communist foothold 90 miles off the coast of Florida.

President Kennedy personally rejected the plans when General Lemnitzer informed him of them, declaring bluntly that "we were not discussing the use of US military force".

Kennedy informed Lemnitzer that none of the four divisions that would be utilized in the military "response" would be available, since they might be required elsewhere.

➡️ That day, Kennedy saved more than a few American lives. He saved the entire world.
