Here at the Cave, we absolutely love Video Games. 2023 has been one of the biggest years in gaming and while we didn't have access to all of them. Draylon has decided to shine some light on some of his favorites of 2023.
Spider Man 2: before I start on this game I have to say that I have no idea how this game won zero awards at the game awards. This game had everything you could possibly want out of a Superhero/Action game. It had a great story, characters and added to the already great gameplay that the last couple of spider man games established. Very fun side missions and the boss battles had you on the edge of your seat. Clearly the most exciting game of 2023 and it should have gotten way more shine that it did. In my opinion it's the best game you can get for your PS5 currently
Starfield: I HAD SO MUCH FUN WITH THIS GAME, and with it being free with Game Pass there was no way I could pass up this banger. Starfield is both a game and an experience. All of the customization options to go along with the extremely large universe to explore makes this one a must play for anyone with an Xbox. You can play the game anyway you want to, you can decide to be a evil space pirate, flying around hijacking ships and just being destructive all the way to being an intergalactic space sheriff taking down the bad guys and keeping peace in the galaxy. Of all the games of 2023 I believe I've put the most hours into this one and I'm still going.
Robocop Rouge City: this was the sleeper hit of 2023 and probably my favorite game of the ones I'm mentioning. As a huge Robocop fan I have never played a game that just made you feel like you are the character quite like this one. It was so fun to go through the city of Detroit solving crimes. Blasting at terrorists and following the very well written story of this game. They even got the actual actor of Robocop from the 80s and 90s to step back into his role for this game. They have actually dropped the price on this game recently so if you are thinking about getting it its definitely worth whatever you pay for it
Hi-Fi Rush: this was probably the start of the Xbox resurgence of 2023. This game was announced and released on the same day and man when I tell you it blew a lot of people away it's probably an understatement. A rhythm based hack and slash game with an incredible art style and a DOPE soundtrack (which it won an award for). I didn't expect to like that game as much as I did but I was pleasantly surprised. Another W for game pass.
Like a Dragon Gaiden, the man who erased his name: its a Yakuza game.....it picks up after Yakuza 6.....it's not turn based.....🔥🔥🔥🔥 I don't care about how short it is. The brawling in a yakuza game is worth the time. If you are looking to play this one make sure you are familiar with the series before you do. But there was no way I wasn't going to not put a yakuza release as one of my favorites of the year
Now before yall start yelling ZELDA! I'm pretty confident that game is incredible, but I haven't played it.....yet.... I'll probably get to it soon though, and for all yall that will complain about me not mentioning Baldurs gate 3....save your breath. Turn based D&D games are not my thing and I'm staying away from that one lol
