For I want to share a small piece of my story in hopes that it can help someone else feel less alone.
My experience with depression began at a young age, and this is when I didn’t even understand what depression was at the time. I suppressed those feelings of sadness and that led things to build up over time. As my stressors piled up over the following years with school, family, financials, etc. I knew something was wrong as things weren’t getting any easier and my physical well-being had also been taking a toll. I looked into therapy, and that’s when every unhealed wound builded up over the years opened up all at once. I fell into a deep depression. I continued to go to therapy and was prescribed medication from my psychiatrist. It helped me get to a place of peace in my mind that I’ve been need for a long time.
Our minds are so powerful and things like depression, anxiety, ptsd, and trauma can lead to more health issues in and throughout the body. It’s o k a y to take medication if that’s what helps you be and feel like a better you.
Someone can look happy on the outside but be struggling on the inside, which is why it’s so important to be kind to each other.
I send love to anyone suffering and for those who have lost loved ones due to mental health related issues.
