I feel like a horrible mother!
I screamed at my boys tonight and sent them to bed.
Now in all fairness, I had asked them many times to stop doing what they were doing. I finally had enough and told them it was bedtime.
They plotted together at this point to act and play like they didn't know where the remote was to the TV, that they had just had by the way.
I asked them again many times over to hand over the remote, it was time for bed. They laughed and thought they were being hilarious.
And then it happened, I lost my cool. I started yelling at them. Of course my oldest (12) starts back talking and that doesn't help matters.
I grew up with a father who lost his cool and yelled all the time. I learned it from him. And now it's the one thing I hate most about myself.
I know why it happened, I'm stressed the F*** OUT. And it has nothing to do with my kiddos.
Changes that are coming. Im a firm believer in, "Everything happens for a reason". I'm trying real hard to put my big girl panties on, I really am.
And then these damn fall/winter months! It's usually mid-Oct or late Oct when the kids bring the first round of sickness to the home front.
Nope, not this year. Kids were sick last week, now my husband is sick, worse then the kiddos were. So here I am, waiting for it to get me next.
When my kids and husband are sick, it stresses me out BIG TIME! I know why, but that's for a different time.
So yea, here I am kids are sound asleep and I'm feeling like a s**t mom for losing my cool over something that wasn't really that big in the first place.
I'm sure nobody will have read this lol but I feel better getting it off my chest. And if for some crazy reason someone did read this to the end, thank you 🩷

I've been a stay-at-home mom for the last 10 years and sometimes, like currently I've been struggling.
It's not always the kiddos either that makes you want to go bat s**t crazy. It's everything else!
It's your relationship, it's your friendships, it's family drama, it's finances, or it's health issues. I'm sure I'm missing a few but you get my drift.
It can be seriously taxing and draining on your mental health. Like I said, I've been in the thick of it lately.

The role of a stay-at-home parent can be emotionally demanding and exhausting!
Many of us start to have those feelings of isolation, stress, being over stimulated, or burnt out!
It is absolutely necessary for us to prioritize self care to keep our mental well being in check!
3 quick self care ideas to try
☆ Go for a quick 15 minute walk. Get out and breath that fresh air!
☆ Journaling! Spend 10 minutes writing down your thoughts and feelings. Whatever that might be, let it flow!
☆ Connect with a friend. Reach out for a quick 10 min chat. A short convo with someone you enjoy can really lift your spirits!

Me, today!! I have nothing to give.
Yesterday was a rough one for me mentally and emotionally.
I'm taking a "me" day today! I dropped my kids off at school and came home to soak in the bath tub.
And guess what? That is totally okay!! I know I need to get myself right before I can be the good mother I know I am.
Taking a day to reset is absolutely necessary sometimes and I encourage every stay at home parent to do so.
Hang in there, tomorrow is a new day♡

Some days, I just need a mom break…
A day to check out.
A day to stop being needed.
A day to not answer every. single. question.
A day to myself.
A day to escape.
A day to self care.
Some days, I just need a mom break…
A break because I’m breaking.
I’m cracking.
I’m falling apart at the seams.
I’m mentally depleted.
My brain is on empty.
My emotions are spiraling.
My body has started shutting down.
I’m short.
I’m snappy.
I’m tired. I’m so FREAKIN’ tired.
I’m not happy.
So no one is happy.
Because moms hold the happiness.
Moms give the love and create the whole home with it.
We give and give and give some more.
Some days, I just need a mom break.
I need to rest.
I need to recharge.
I need to find peace within me.
Because there is no doubt I love my kids, but some days I just need a mom break so I can give them all of that love.

What did everyone do this Labor Day Weekend?
We went camping! It was a much needed break for this stay at home momma!
I didn't even realize how addicted I am to my phone until I was forced to put it down (no signal)
I knew I needed a break and I guess so did the universe because it forced me to take that break.
It was hard I'm not going to lie, but it was worth every second of the disconnect ❤️🤍💙 Like, follow, comment please

Stay-at-home parents, I know it's rough and I know it's hard but just do this one thing for yourself whatever that might be. If it means getting in the shower cool, if it means doing one chore in your house cool. Believe me when I say if you just do one thing for yourself each day it will make you feel better. As much as I absolutely dread having to jump in the shower first thing in the morning, this last week I've made myself get up about 45 minutes before my boys and I get showered and ready for the day. This has been a game changer for me. I find I have more time during my day and I'm not upset with myself for getting a late start every single day.
