I always had many dreams for myself. I always wanted to continue with my studies as much as I can in life. Growing up in a brown household and a muslim household I had the best of both worlds. If I want to focus on my studies and become an independent woman, I was called a bad muslim woman. I was told bengali girls can't do that and told to learn how to take care family and eventually I will marry a doctor, engineer, or a business men. I remember when I was studying for exams, some of my family members closed my wifi box so I wouldn't be able to study for my exam. Sometimes there are hurtful people in this world. I still continued with my studies through all these nagging from family, obstacles and trauma that I faced. I trusted Allah and knew his purpose for me in my life. I decided to start Priunka's Voice and important channel for me. This channel is important because I want to bring awareness for the woman in the muslim and south asian community. I want them to slowly to overcome their trauma to achieve your dreams.

What is the meaning of Priunka's Voice? No guys it is not me singing :) Priunka's Voice is a page and channel that I am trying to organize to be a voice for the muslim woman community and the south asian community. Many woman in these two communties face trauma, obstacles and violence and aren't heard at all. I want to be the voice for them because I understand the position they are facing because of being a Muslim and Bengali American. I am a trauma and mindset coach as well and would like to help any clients that are facing trauma or faced trauma and having a hard time to achieve their goals or even have a purpose to live. Hey for people that dont know me my name is Priunka, you can call me Prii. I want to share a story. I remember when I was 15 years old and I was walking with my dad in Queens, New York. One of those typical aunties and uncles would come and talk to my dad and me. They would tell them "amar meye biye kore dici" in bengali. Sorry if my bengali is bad, I am not perfect in bengali. In english this meant, "I got my girl married". They were soo happy and I remember that these uncle and aunty were just looking at me. They told my dad "Tomar meye tattre biye koro diyo" (Get your girl married). I was quiet and thought in my head I am just freaking 15 years old. I remember my daddy telling them "Na I want my daughter to become successful". The horrible aunty and uncle was laughing and said "ekta meye only biye korte ho ar kisu na". (A girl only can marry and nothing else). I was always quite about this situation and realize that as I was getting older how many woman in the muslim community and in the south asian woman community has no word or have a voice like me. These woman face trauma, mental health problems, obstacles and aren't aloud to speak out about it.So today I promise myself that I will become my own voice and become the voice for that woman muslim community and for the south asian woman community.
