The Pave Your Own Lane mission is to prepare the next generation of young people to become entrepreneurs, investors, business owners and inventors to help meet the community's goal of economic advancement. The Village is an interview series that shares the stories of HBCU in LA alumni students. Each episode showcases the brilliance and tenacity of each alumnus as they reveal their sacred dreams of working in Hollywood as a child. They all share the challenges of being Black in a predominantly White industry. The HBCU in LA alumni program has changed the lives of many HBCU students who otherwise may not have secured such prestigious opportunities in the entertainment industry.

HBCU in LA is an entertainment pipeline development program that educates, trains and recruits the best and brightest students from the nation’s Historically Black Colleges, Universities (HBCUs) for careers across all aspects of the entertainment, media, sports, music and technology industries.
