Been a busy few months. Kids are back in school today! It was one of the moments where you are like “Hell yea!” Then remember that you don’t have unlimited free time with them anymore.

My Ellie “Elbow” Snuggle buddy (yes that is her full name that she tells people atleast) had her first day of pre k today.

Not gonna lie it got me all choked up watching her run off and not even being upset. I was proud and sad to see her grow up even if it was just a little bit more today.

Hey! Huge shout out to everyone who has followed and helped share the small amount of content I’ve fumbled around trying to create! I have some good ideas for some funny videos and more (contained chaos) from my family to share! I look forward to talking and interacting with everyone that wants to engage!

So I just found out my 13-year-old tells her boyfriend, "I love you." It looks like another sit-down when she gets home! Would you happen to have recommendations on how to talk to her about this? Or should I just let it run its course? This is new territory for me!

It's Saturday! As I sift through programming homework and review my regular work for next week, all I can think about is spring break! The kids just got out of school, and my wife and I are preparing for a week home with all FIVE of our animals—I mean kids! Since the weather is excellent and the GA pollen storm of 2024 seems to be over, maybe we should do some fishing this week!

My wife and I thought the kids were occupied and decided to have a little “us” time 😂.

*knock knock knock*

“Dad let me iiiiiiin” she sung in a giggly voice.

My wife starts laughing.

I look down and see a tiny little eyeball

“I can seeeeeee your foooooooooot, let me in!!”

Sometimes we forget our kids have a sixth sense to stop us from doing other things besides spoiling them with affection!!!Laughing we made up a silly thing for her to go do and we heard her run off!

Sometimes it is important for us to make time for each other as long as we are making sure our kids get the attention they deserve! Never be afraid to make time for yourself!

The best advice I can offer to anyone, regardless of their career stage or field, is to never compromise on your values. Even when it's challenging, stay true to yourself and what defines you. I look at my kids and want them to always hold true to the values I am teaching them and to stand fast when others would shift to fit in with whatever cultural norm is accepted. Pride in yourself and what you believe is at the end of the day what defines us and gives us purpose.
