Trying more tutorials by I used the basic tools from their video about making a marker and another one making a cup and made this. I keep checking their channel but hope to one day subscribe to their classes, they look super interesting and their students projects look great.
I now understand the classic "haven't posted in a while" and how sad it feels. I have missed a lot posting new stuff and looking for people to like and comment on it. I see other people creating great things and I missed sitting down, learning new things and posting them. Hope you all are well.

Let's be honest, few people learning 3D don't want to make a spaceship. So this is kind of try #1.
When I was just starting and wanted to take my first steps I read a post that said never do a spaceship first. Start by learning the program, then basic forms, then more modeling and shading, then update blender, do some donuts, update blender again, when you start your own ideas then try some new things, then try to replicate things around you, update blender again. After all that some day you will know how to make your own spaceship. This was soooo true.

I hope in some months or next year to do another spaceship with everything I have learned until that moment. Hope to see some of yours too.

I'll think about something different cause this one is almost a copy of his tutorial and I always try to add something of my own cause I think you learn better when you do that. I learned soon enough that my knowledge in lighting as a photographer would be useful on 3D as lights are simulated with similar laws as in real life. Another great surprise was that I now can add a lot of lights of all sizes and from lots of directions with little effort and make some tests that in real time take more time and are harder to achieve if you don't have enough lights and tools at hand. So my knowledge in real life helps me with 3d and my 3d helps me with real life cases, win-win.

This images were part of the obsession of first days learning glass shading, also I learned a little bit of metal textures. First one is cycles, second one is eevee.

One of the things I have loved about learning 3d is to make things I like. I never knew how to draw well, my hands are not good for fine work. So I use it for doing some of the things I like.
