In this episode we get Chris’s unfiltered thoughts on the war between Russia and Ukraine and how it’s effects are shaping the global market. He takes a look at the Russian stock market’s plunge and the cracks that were starting to form in the technical signals back in October gave us a warning. Chris outlines the key levels that will likely determine market direction, and why those with an overly bullish bias could get wiped out. He emphasizes that although the war has taken center stage on the news that inflation and rising interest rates haven’t gone away. After considering geopolitics Chris moves on to the trades in energy (XLE, ERX, and CVX) that have made him the most money the past few weeks to consider whether or not there’s more upside. He finishes strong with sectors to watch for potential reversal trades. Remember money rarely leaves the market, it simply rotates from sector to sector. The key is to have your early warning system in place and get into the trends as they begin.
