One Year On Throne: My Ascension is for Development, Growth of the Youth and repositioning of the traditional and cultural norms, Says Amb. Danmutaqqa

By OracleNews Editor, Sunday, February 11, 2024

The Sarkin Samarin Yamma of the Seventeen (17) Southern States of Nigeria, Ambassador (Dr) Sanni Salisu Danmutaqqa, has revealed that his ascension to the throne is divine for the development and growth of the Youth, with establishment and repositioning of the traditional and cultural norms amongst the youth populace.

Ambassador Danmutaqqa made this known at the weekend during a Press Conference to mark his First Year Coronation Anniversary at his residence.

The youthful chief gave glory to Allah SWT for the grace to achieve so much in a short period of his reign, promising the youth that they should expect more landmark achievements and laudable feats in the coming months.

He appreciated His Royal Highness, Mallam Dr. Haruna Maiyasin Katsina, Sarkin Sasa and Sardaunan Yamma, who is the Chairman, Council of Arewa Traditional Chiefs in Seventeen (17) Southern States of Nigeria, for finding him worthy on merit to take the title. He as well hail the Royal Fathers and the youths for their inflicting support for him to have a peaceful reign with several development in a short time.

Ambassador Danmutaqqa highlighted some of his achievements so far within one year on the throne, and how he was able to change and re-established the face of the position with the exposure and administrative experience he had before he assumed the title.

‘Before being coronated as the Sarkin Samarin Yamma of the Seventeen (17) Southern States of Nigeria, by His Royal Highness, Mallam Dr. Haruna Maiyasin Katsina, Sarkin Sasa and Sardaunan Yamma, who is the Chairman, Council of Arewa Traditional Chiefs in Seventeen (17) Southern States of Nigeria, so many critics arose with lots of criticisms, pressure and challenges, in order for me not get the title. But to the Glory of Allah, I was blessed and given the title.

When I take up the role of Sarkin Samarin Yamma of the Seventeen (17) Southern States of Nigeria, I was not sure how activities and events would pan out over the following months. All I knew was that I was fully prepared in my vision and determination to make a difference in the lives and well-being of my people’, he recalled

‘I was clear about where I wanted to lead the Youth populace in the Southern States. I had my goals and mapped out, and how I was going to measure our achievements as we progress. At every opportunity I made it clear to everyone what my priorities were; human capacity development of our people, and socio-economic development across our communities’, he added

‘Each time that I talked about this, I make sure to also quickly emphasise that the foundation for achieving these goals is hinged on our ability to unite as a people, and how well we are able to build good relationships with our neighbours’, Danmutaqqa emphaised

The youthful chief looking back in the last one year declared that he was satisfied with the support and cooperation being enjoyed from his subjects, who he said contributed immensely for the successes.

‘I had no insight as to what structure was on ground, nor on the resources that would be available to work with. I was pleasantly surprised how quickly and easily we were able to get everyone that mattered onboard. Indeed, a good product will sell itself, provided people need or want it, and it has features that people can see working’, he stated

‘I am filled with joy and happiness. My people are my support. With the right support, you can surmount any obstacle. This wise saying couldn’t be truer, considering what I experienced since my ascension to the throne as the Sarkin Samarin Yamma of the Seventeen (17) Southern States’, he added

He reiterated that his reign within the period of a year has achieved a lot of important milestones, for which he is proud of, adding that he has confidence that the community can achieve a lot more in the future.

‘We need enormous support for our initiatives, both from home and abroad. My experience over the last 12 months, has confirmed my strong belief that when the conditions are conducive, Nigerians are generally good natured’, he stated

‘Certainly, credit for the successes which we have recorded so far, is due to the good support and contributions that we have received. From people who believe in our vision and trust in our plans, and who have supported us with resources to actualize our programmes’, Danmutaqqa stressed

The youthful chief, however, dedicated all achievements to his subjects, adding that his reign has touched the lives of the people in many positive ways. Notable achievements include community development and social well-being, war against drugs abuse, alternative dispute resolution, mental health advocacy among others.

“I have changed the perceptions of my people that, there is no chief without subjects. I have also change their perception about the traditional institution and cultural norms, and allow my subordinates to always feel free and enjoy themselves so that they will not be scared of telling me the truth.

"Furthermore, I am commending all those who attended my coronation and reception. Truth need be told, the title isn't mine alone, rather it is for all the youths, and I promise to be available to support and associate with all the Royal Fathers across board.

The Peace Ambassador, admonished the youth to discover themselves, be disciplined and focus, promising to bring prosperity, class, elegance, glamour, grandeur, panache and exceptional opportunities to the youth populace.

While holding this title, Danmutaqqa was nominated as Patron and Ambassador against Fake News, Brand Ambassador of A5 Global Logistics and Travel Ltd, bagged Honorary Doctorate Degree in Peace and Conflict Resolution, from EDEXCEL University, Port Novo, among others.

Education Remains Top of My Legislative Priorities, Kehinde Joseph Reiterates

--- Reaffirms commitment to Human Capacity Development

The Member, Lagos State House of Assembly, representing Alimosho Constituency II, Hon Kehinde Olaide Joseph, has reiterated that education is the surest path towards eradication of poverty, underdevelopment and insecurity in the country, saying that the sector remains top of his Legislative priorities in the State Assembly.

The State Lawmaker noted that the educational sector is the pillar upon which our dear country will sustain economic development and urged for more budgetary allocation for education.

Joseph, who through his YESKJ FOUNDATION, gave scholarship opportunities to five hundred (500) students in his Constituency to studied at Aries Polytechnic - Ibadan, with acceptance, academic and mobility fees, fully serviced by him.

While taken the recipient candidates to the institution yesterday, as their academic session begin, Joseph expressed that education is the bedrock of the society and no nation can progress beyond its investment in the sector.

The quintessential lawmaker stated that the scholarship opportunity he attracted for the recipient candidates is also his contribution to the development of the Institute. He noted that the Staff and Management of the great citadel of learning have benefited from his dividend of democracy, reaffirming to check on the recipient candidates often, so as to monitor their improvement academically.

The Chairman, House Committee on Public Account (State), therefore urge the recipient candidates to make use of the opportunities given, to achieve a better future for themselves, as education is the most powerful weapon which one can use to change the world.

"Leadership is about making impacts while in office and those impacts last long after you have left office because without that, you have failed in leadership. This is one of the reasons I had decided to play positive roles in changing the status quo in my own capacity.

"As it is, there is no better way to empower people than through the education of their children. When you give money, it will certainly finish and they may still be poor, and when you buy cars or motorcycle for people, they will one day run out of fuel and come back for more assistance, but when you give their children education, you are setting them free and empowering them to become greater even more than yourself. That is what I have just done, because educational empowerment is the greatest empowerment", he said.

Two of the recipient candidates, Lasisi Barakat Ifeoluwa, who enrolled into Higher National Diploma Programme, to study Accounting and Alade Kehinde Elijah, who enrolled into the National Diploma Programme, to study Mass Communication, while appreciating the Foundation, said they never believe the Scholarship Opportunity Programme is real, not until they arrived at the institute and have all their registration done before departing to their hostels. Mr. Azeez A. Amusa, one of the recipients' parent, while speaking to the press, stated that the generous disposition to humanity of the foundation and the founder was highly commendable and such a spirit was required in our society.

He said as individuals, we must come to terms with placing premium priority on human development than gathering wealth and resources, adding that the founder, deemed it fit to add his quota to developing a crucial aspect of the society while he on behalf of the parents prayed for God to continue bless the foundation and the founder with the requisite resources.

AN OPEN LETTER TO PRESIDENT BOLA AHMED TINUBU ON WHY PROFESSOR SIR BENEDICT AYADE IS VERY MUCH NEEDED IN YOUR ADMINISTRATION CONSIDERING HIS VAST KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND PEDIGREE IN ADMINISTRATION AND DIPLOMACY BOTH AT NATIONAL AND GLOBAL LEVELS

Office Of The President,
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR,
Executive President, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces,
Of The Federal Republic of Nigeria,
A*o Rock Villa,
Three Arms Zone,
Abuja.
August 7th, 2023.

Your Excellency,

As a protege and student of your political school of thoughts, I have never been timid or shy of my total support for the success of your administration to deliver our country, Nigeria, to the Promise Land.

My confidence had always been based on Your Excellency's ability, fitness and competence in leading our country to the Promise Land, where Law and Order prevail, individual liberty is guaranteed, economic well-being of the citizens is assured.

That my confidence in Your Excellency remains unshaken to date. In recent time however, I want you to join the best hands in your adminstration for the actualization and realization of the renewed hope, because we all know that a key factor that sets leadership apart is the capacity to effectively formulate, harmonize, implement, monitor and evaluate policies and programmes. Therefore, merit must constitute the overriding yardstick for those that will be serving in your Administration both at the national and global levels. And in order for this administration to take off with the right momentum and maintain a steady course, it must accord priority attention to the character, personality, experience and disposition of those who will be appointed. That is where Professor Sir Benedict Ayade, CON, comes into the picture.

Arguably, the foremost political titan from the core South-South today, is Sir Benedict Ayade, CON, the erstwhile Governor of Cross River State, whose from every logical perspective should be the best-primed person to serve in some high capacity of this political dispensation. This is even more so as this humble Professor in his unassailable wisdom gave the All Progressives Congress, APC, the soft-landing and the space to grow in Cross River State within a short period of two years, a stronghold of the People's Democratic Party, PDP.

Although, Sir Benedict Ayade, CON, needs no introduction, but I will suffice to state that he is a quintessential public servant, a core grassroots politician and perfect gentleman. He served as a Senator for Cross River North between 2011 and 2015, before he became the Executive Governor of the State between 2015 and 2023, making history as the first Governor of the 'People's Paradise State' to successfully complete two consecutive tenures in office as a Member of two political parties.

Indeed, Sir Benedict Ayade, CON is an omnibus of knowledge with vast wealth of experiences; saddled with a plethora of humongous functions when he was in the Legislative and Executive Arms of Government as a Senator and Executive Governor. As an Executive Governor, he has drived many policy formulation, harmonization, implementation and monitoring of the various State Ministries, Departments and Agencies. In addition, scores of sensitive State parastatals function perfectly under his watch in Cross River State.

Consequently, he is an ideal personality with immense wisdom, sound judgment, versatility and commendable wealth of experience in governance, administration and public service. He is visionary, exceptionally diligent and fully committed to the success of the administrative governance; while possessing imitable patience, tolerance and a keen eye for details. As an administrator, he always exude positive energy, passion and grace; and as well an adherent of inclusive leadership. Of course, his effective communication is another key quality he efficiently possessed.

His youthful agenda and inclusivity in politics shows he's a reincarnated your personality Your Excellency. He has raised and empowered countless young leaders from Cross River State, both politically and economically. He has equally mentored many youths to rise to political prominence, and he is obviously not done yet. To be candid, credits must be given to him for throwing up these duo and many more fantastic very young leaders to the National stage.

Dr. Betta Edu currently thirty-six (36) served as his Health commissioner, now ministerial nominee. Senator Asuquo Ekpenyong currently thirty-seven (37) served as his Finance Commissioner, and now Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, representing Cross River South. Currently, he's the youngest serving Senator in the Red Chamber of the National Assembly.

Sir Benedict Ayade, CON relates effortlessly with; and appeals to people of all gender, ages, classes, tribes, religions and political divides. His political, social and economic tentacles are large and strong enough to attract and sustain the needed goodwill of the vast majority of Nigerians for your administration. Compared to his years of meritorious public service and the exalted positions he has held, Sir Benedict Ayade, CON may not seem to have accumulated much mundane wealth, but a lot of Nigerians will testify that his kindness and generosity is evident in the lives of countless citizens of Cross River State.

I boldly state that no politician from 'the People's Paradise State' has made the degree of sacrifice that Sir Benedict Ayade has made towards building the All Progressives Congress. Since he officially left the People's Democratic Party for the All Progressives Congress on May 20th 2021, he has been met with much frustration, mostly when it was known that he is likely to be the Senate President of the 10th National Assembly if elected, but yet, his steadfastness helped to sustain the structures of the All Progressives Congress back to the State after been an opposition party for years. Ayade has paid the last ounce of his dues in Nigerian politics, and mostly to the All Progressives Congress. He remains the undeniable rallying point for the former opposition and now make it the ruling party in Cross River, winning the Governorship seat and nineteen (19) State House of Assembly Members seats, and two (2) Senatorial seats out of three, forfeiting his own chance of becoming a Senator for our great party, The All Progressives Congress. This shows that Ayade is ever accessible to the people, and that he is firmly and constantly in touch with the grassroots. He listens intently, and as much as possible, attends to the problems of his people.

Indeed, Ayade is a rare personality, which his contemporaries from Cross River can not have his ingenuity in a hurry. Though, he faced so many critics but they have all forgotten the humongous debt profile he inherited, the lean Federal allocations and the internal friction and setback he suffered. But he came out, worked hard and made it to the top five (5) performing Governors. Do the critics know what it means for a State whose Federal allocations is second to the last to make top five (5)? Ayade was receiving N2.7B monthly for Cross River State, while he was competing with Akwa Ibom, Rivers, Bayelsa, Kano, Lagos, etc that were receiving an average N15B monthly. He revamp Cross River State from poverty through his stimulus economic policy - which gave the youth populace the edge to attend school through bursaries, while some underemployed youth were trained on SMEs and others on agro-economy skills. He did not even stopped there, he also did well by recoupling Cross River State from a salary dependent State to an Industrial Hub of the Nation through his industrialization drive that beget seventeen (17) industries in Cross River State. He shows that governance is not all about sweeping the road. It's about empowering people for sustainable development, which he did excellently in that direction.

The Obudu German Hospital, Biase Teacher's Continous Training Institute, Ogoja Ultramodern Rice Mill, Calabar/Odukpani High Way Dual Carriage, Gas Fired Power Plant, Cross River Processing Factory (Calachika), Cross River Feed Mill Factory, Cross River Bagging and Packaging Factory, amongst others, were part of the industrial and infrastructural legacy projects he left behind in the 'People's Paradise State'. The President of the 10th Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio while serving as the Minister for Niger Delta applauded Ayade's strides in agricultural value chain, reiterating that he sees a great future for the people of Niger Delta through Sir Benedict Ayade, CON, because he had shown exceptional leadership by the great works he did in Cross River State.

Also, the Former Emir of Kano, HRH Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, also commended Ayade for the unparalleled height attained in the industrialization. Not only that, the United Nations Children's Fund, UNICEF, as well applauded Ayade for constructing a world-class Teacher's Continous Training Institute in Biase Local Government Area of the State. UNICEF made it known that the institute would become a citadel for teacher's development sooner than later in Africa, stating that Ayade's decision to establish such institute with modern technology depicts hallmark of a leader with an eye for the future.

Your Excellency, did you know that Cross River State got a paltry sum of N35M or thereabouts at a particular month after deduction of all their debts (fact check it)? Yet, this man ensures workers are paid every month without delay. Some of the audacious projects he embarked on, still baffles so many Nigerians where the resources came from. I have no doubts in no distance time, even though, some people within the State feels he has done nothing, but they will surely miss him and his style of governance.

However, there is no gainsay that Sir Benedict Ayade, CON has been an unrepentant loyalist of Your Excellency since his defection into the Party. In the build up to the APC 2023 Presidential Primary Election, he showed interest of contesting but step-down for Your Excellency, while the exercise is ongoing and made it abundantly clear to all Cross-Riverian, where he stood. He never dilly-dallied on his support for a Tinubu Presidency, and he gallantly led Cross River people into a resounding 25% electoral college needed for the State, at the 2023 presidential poll, delivering Cross River to the All Progressives Congress.

Your Excellency, if former Governors who did not performed better than Sir Benedict Ayade, CON, should be rewarded with Ministerial appointments, and if these appointments are meant to reflect the interests of the nation and her citizens, then rewarding Ayade's competence, vast of knowledge and wealth of experience, will really amounts to the respect for the sensibilities of the people and actualization of your renewed hope agenda.

It is with immense pride that I present Professor, Sir Benedict Ayade, CON; the munificent servant leader, bridge-builder and undoubtedly one of the best choice, brand, and materials needed in the actualization and realization of achieving the renewed hope agenda of Your Excellency.

I trust that you will jettisoned the damages lots of his unwarranted enemies might have tabled before you, by quickly and decisively taking immediate steps on where to fix him, so as to establish confidence in your government and demonstrate the capacity that you rewards brains, competence and performance.

I wish you God's guidance, courage and wisdom to do what is right, appropriate and necessary to build Nigeria of our dreams, where competence, performance and vast pragmatic experience is not shortchanged for inconsistent, non-performance and incompetence.

While urging you to take out time to read and consider this letter as coming from a citizen and a stakeholder in your administration, I want you to recall back to your words when you visited him in Calabar on June 3rd 2022, that; "Mine is to respect you as you respect me. I appeal to you as your senior brother and the first to declare his intention, not to endorse me today, but when you get to Abuja, you can endorse me fully. We must have that unity of purpose. We must work together not only for the unity and economic development of Cross River, but also of the country" - in which he did solely with his heart and mind, my stepping to the podium and do endorsed you, by stepping down.

Conclusively, I will want you to appoint him in your cabinet because the man is still young and vibrant with lots of intellectual energy and capacity to help in consolidating the Renewed Hope Agenda. On my part, I wish to assure you of my positive contributions because it is our collective legacy that is as stake if the needful is not done.

Thank you for this privilege. It is the least I can do as a patriotic and concerned Nigerian.

God Bless You Sir.
God Bless The Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Yours Faithfully,
Olayiwola Rasheed Emmanuel,

Governor of Cross River State, Ben Ayade Commission a Number of Industries Built by his Administration, Says it is People Oriented

--- Commends the HBMSL Consortium Group for the timely job well-done

--- Expresses optimism that the Group live up to its billing, for they have been tested and proven, have chains of businesses and have their foundation on God

The Governor of Cross River State, Professor Benedict Ayade, earlier today, Thursday, May 25, 2023, commissioned the Cala Chika, a frozen chicken factory which processes 24,000 birds per day, the feed-mill factory and the instant noodles factory which is one of the biggest noodles factories in Nigeria, which he described as people-oriented project.

Ayade who has consistently maintained that the key trust of his administration is the rapid industrialization of the State as well as building of socioeconomic Infrastructural projects, commend the HBMSL Consortium Group for the timely job well-done.

His words: "When we assumed the rein of leadership of our dear State, our administration launched an economic roadmap as a way of encouraging investments in various sectors of the economy, particularly agriculture.

"In our agricultural revolution effort, the state opted for the concessioning of industries our administration built across the state to ensure that they remain state’s assets, thereby signing a concession agreement with HBMSL Group.

"According to the terms of the agreement, HBMSL is to assume management of the industries and ensure that products from the industries are rolled out within three months, because sometime ago, we did a referendum on whether the government should run this industry as government or privatize and the generality of the opinion was that government assets should remain government assets as privatization has not brought about any benefits so far.

"The optimism I expressed sometimes ago, that as a tested and proven consortium, HBMSL will live up to its billing, because with the Group, we have got the right people that God has put on our path. They have been tested and proven, have chains of businesses and have their foundation on God, and today, the Group prove us right, that they are a group with good conscience", Ayade said.

The representative of the HBMSL Group, Ambassador Omodele Adebola, while emphasizing the significance of the industrialization policy of Ayade's administration, said: "That we are gathered here today is no doubt a determination woven through to precision and a glowing testament to the fact that the industrialization policy is working.

The business tycoon who lauded Ayade for the giant stride and for keying into the agricultural revolution policy, further noted that the factories spoke loudly about the Governor's administration strides in Agriculture, adding that its capacity to processes huge numbers of birds, animal feeds and instant noodles per day, will aid in job creation and earn revenue for the State.

"With Governor Ayade's other investments in agriculture such as the construction of ultramodern rice mill in Ogoja, the cotton farm in Yala, the cocoa processing plant in Ikom and the Banana plantation in Odukpani among others, it's clear that Cross River has found a pathway to decouple itself from over reliance on federal allocation.

"It is evident also that by conceiving projects such as this, Governor Ayade has a keen eye for tomorrow; focusing on projects that are building a new economic base for the State rather than projects with short term benefits for the purpose of making cheap political gains.

"Once again , I commend Governor Ayade for this laudable initiative as our country makes steady and assured progress towards self-sufficiency in food production", he maintained.
