There seems to be a large misconception that Dhamma teachers are quiet, timid, and won’t speak up and call out bulls**t.

That’s incredibly misguided and far from the truth. Good teachers will make you a little uncomfortable and bring to light all of your triggers.

Listen y’all, real talk. I put my heart and soul into Gulf Coast Dharma. It takes a lot of effort to do it every week. If nobody shows up, it makes me question why I keep doing it. It’s certainly not because I can’t find other things to do.

I started this group because I care about my community and wanted to offer the teachings of the Buddha in a real, tangible, authentic, accessible way. I thought Pensacola needed that. Well it needs it but it apparently doesn’t want it.

I don’t want to pull the plug. I want to see more interest.

Life happens, I know. Do you think it’s easy for me to give every Monday of my life to this group? It isn’t. But I do it out of love and compassion for my community.

I’ve tried to build community here in Pensacola, but y’all don’t seem interested in that. I tried potlucks, and chat groups, and all kinds of things and nothing works.

I’m going to keep trudging and doing this, but I can’t guarantee for how long.

Who knew that trying to teach the Dhamma in the Deep South would be impossible!? 🤣

Trying to do all of the necessary things to get this business off of the ground, AGAIN, has been so stressful. At times I feel like I’m losing my whole mind. I’ve put every penny I have into this.

I’ve borrowed, begged, and everything but stole and I’m still not finished with everything that needs to be done.

Please, God, Universe, whatever, please let this work.

Thanks to Laura Retta for always having my back and putting up with my neuroses when this kind of s**t happens. She’s a f**king Saint and I would be nowhere without her. She’s my strength when things seem like they’re falling apart. I love you with my whole heart, honey. Thank you for being there for me and for loving my crazy ass.

You won’t normally find me on here shilling for my Podcast, but this is an important conversation and it’s a very difficult topic to talk about. Even mentioning this topic has gotten me ostracized from the meditation center that trained me, but it’s very integral to the Buddha teaching.
