FIRE EXTINGUISHER 🧯
(Vlog releasing 0430 IST) YOUTUBE - SHOOTINSIGHT
Getting a good weather on the Atlantic Ocean is very difficult in this season of the year.
Luckily we got a calm and bright sunny day, and we took full advantage of this day to complete our pending work.
The Deck crew were doing the deck maintenance mainly chipping and painting and I also had 3 monthly inspections left of Fire Extinguishers which comes under FFA.
In this Video you will get glimpses of the deck work carried on a bulk carrier.
This whole video about the Fire Extinguishers Maintenance will be covered in two parts.

Enjoy the Part 1!

Hello Guys!
I am back here with another vlog.
This time I will show you the jobs which we are required to finish before arrival of any port like the hold washing and preparing the vessel and holds for the Cargo to be loaded.
Also as we are on the way to USA and we might have an US COAST GUARD inspection or as we say PSC (Port State Control) in the shipping terminology.
Each department has its own jobs be it deck or engine and every officer has its own set of responsibilities.
Being a third officer I also have to look after certain things on deck which comes under Fire Fighting and Life saving appliances.
They must be in proper good condition which is essential for safety of Life at Sea. Besides this is what any PSC Inspector checks the most and US Coast Guard is also very Strict about it.
So cannot leave anything to chance.

Hope you guys will like the video. If you do, remember to SUBSCRIBE to my Channel and I will see you in the next Vlog.

DAY OR NIGHT, NATURE’S ALWAYS RIGHT 🎑
I was about to end my Port watch and went on Bridge to write the deck log book, when I saw this mesmerising view outside of the bridge wing, I couldn’t help myself but to take the picture of this wonderful scenic beauty. The moon was so near to the horizon and so bright that it illuminated the whole Sea as if the sun is working on its reduced power.
Sometimes you see such wonderful things out at sea, that your eyes cannot comprehend what you just saw.
Luckily I had my camera, so I was able to take a photo and share it with you but believe me this photo is nothing in front of what I saw with my bare eyes.

Hello fellow Seafarers!

In this Video I talk about how a fresher Navigating Officer should approach towards doing the Bridge Controls Test.
I know, alot of fresh Officers have doubts about how and what to do when doing the Control checks for very first time.
During Cadetship either cadets were not given enough time on bridge or they had been not attentive enough because they hadn't any responsibility. But now when they have come with the license onboard and given the task of Control checks prior arrival or departure, they are kind of lost from where to start and how to start.

In this Video I have tried to give a step wise approach for Bridge Control Tests. I will not be talking briefly on each and every equipment because make and models could be different on different Ships, rather I will be talking about what to do on that equipment regarding Control Checks.

Feel free to add something on this or if I am not right somewhere or you have a better way to do that.

I will see you in the next Video. TAKE CARE.

More than 1 lakh Metric tonnes, that's around more than 8000 large dumper trucks carrying capacity. That's how huge a Ship is.

Do you ever wonder how do ships, for which steel is the main structural component, and carrying enormous weight manage to float?

The reason behind that is their shape,
because of its body design, which contains a lot of air, it displaces enough water so that the buoyancy force is equal to its gravity force. That is why a Ship Floats.

In this video you will see how beautiful the Mississippi River approach is.

It is beautiful as well as dangerous for navigation when you are navigating a cape size ship.
A navigator needs to be more vigilant with less width and lack of navigable water in the surrounding.
Also, the other Ships might pass you by a distance of less than 150-100 metres or less.

Along with this the River has several over head bridges and their accurate calculation for the safe clearance is very important. You can leave no stone unturned.

Enjoy this video with its beautiful scenes and also watch how we have prepared and tied our vessel to the buoys for the safe loading of the Ship.

FIRE HYDRANT MAINTENANCE 🔥
So we had to renew the fire hydrants which were leaking, these hydrants overtime starts to leak from either the seat or from the packing.
This is the first thing any port state control or vetting inspectors see, when he asks you to start the emergency fire pump and while taking rounds on deck if he sees any leaking hydrant, he can give you detainable deficiency.

So keep good check on them. 😀

THE BALLAST CONTROL ROOM
This is the cargo control room or 'ballast control room' (called in Bulk carriers) which is generally located in the Ship's Office.
The equipment in the BCR may allow the person in charge to control the cargo/ballast and stripping pumps, control and monitor valve positions, and monitor cargo/ballast tank liquid levels remotely.

We Played Cricket on Ship (Trailer)| Sailor's Vlog #7 (check out my youtube Channel)

https://youtu.be/0eN0afhJ3C8

In this Video I will be showing you, how we played Cricket onboard the Ship.
Being A seafarer far away from land and home you have limited resources of entertainment and with this Covid times when the outings have been restricted, we Sailors find something so that we can keep up the morale of the crew onboard by conducting some gatherings, playing Cricket, TT and other different games.
It is a great stress buster and we had a lot of fun. Hope you guys will enjoy that too.

Stay tuned will release it on this Friday 😀
