Canada's Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced the government's plans to require COVID-19 immunization across the federal public service and federally controlled transportation sectors.

Federal employees, including members of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, will be expected to submit their vaccination status by October 29, 2021, under the new regulation.

Those who refuse to reveal their vaccination status or to be fully vaccinated will be sent on administrative leave without pay beginning November 15, 2021.

On Monday, Canada activated a 1977 treaty with the U.S. to start talks over a Canada-based company, Enbridge Inc.

Enbridge Inc.'s pipeline transports 540,000 barrels of crude and refined products every day from Wisconsin, USA, to Ontario, Canada.

Earlier this year, the U.S. state of Michigan ordered Enbridge to close down the pipe temporarily because there was a risk of developing a leak. Enbridge refused, which has led to the conflict.

By invoking the treaty, the U.S. government will be obligated to intervene in the Line 5 issue.
