Finally after over a year of on an off again work on this YF-117 I am happy to say that it is done! The kit was Testors 1995 1:32 scale and boy did it need a lot of work to look right not to mention the scratch building and modifications required to convert it to the early YF variant used for flight testing. This paint scheme was the first one the aircraft ever flew with and only lasted ten flights before it was repainted gray and famously referred to as the gray ghost. I didn’t go too heavy on the weathering because of the short life of this look. A little oil paint to fade and give the paint that pastel look, and rain marks to hint that the desert sand dust collected and ran down the sides.

Here is my completed Trumpeter 1:32 F-18E Super Hornet. I added an Aries resin ejection seat with PE seat belts , Red Fox Studio instrument panels, Eduard exterior PE set, and DMX decals for the VFA-137 digital camo (Which I will definitely paint next time LOL).

I finally got around to taking some pictures of the finished 1:350 scale USS Arizona I built. The kit is from HobbyBoss and I added the Eduard photo etch detail kit. It took four months from start to finish, and if I’m being honest I’m kinda glad to have this one behind me. It was a lot of work, but I also learned a lot of techniques to move forward with the upcoming builds.

I completed the last of the major construction with the second tower. I know it’s leaning a little but it’s not glued down yet. There are a few things yet to do still such as some life boats, AAA guns,and a few fiddly things, but after those it’s is on to the painting process.

I’m just about done with the cockpit of the YF-117. The PE and instrument decals from Airscale are very nice and had no issues with them. I think the rest of the scratch built parts could be better, but practice makes perfect. Overall I’m mostly happy with the way it turned out.

War of the Worlds (1953) Martian 1:8 scale kit is done. It was a lot of fun to put together and paint. I am really happy with the look of the mirror I added to the back of the eye to simulate the eye lighting up like in the movie.

War of the Worlds (1953) Martian war machine 1:48 scale is done. It was a lot of fun to put together. The world base for the ship was fun to paint too. I tried out acrylic ink to make the clouds with dabs from a sponge.
