“Improv House Party” will see Toronto’s Second City sequestered couples — Aurora Browne/Kris Siddiqi and Paul Bates/Christie Bruce — broadcasting their spontaneous comic inventions starting at 8 p.m. EDT on Zoom, the suddenly ubiquitous video meeting service. They’ll be going up against talents of other livestreamers from the Chicago and Los Angeles companies of Second City. (Toronto’s Sandy Jobin-Bevans will host.)

This will be a rare chance to see veterans of live comedic performance create something new, given that the COVID-19 pandemic has essentially shut down all live venues across North America and beyond. Fans of “Baroness von Sketch Show” on CBC will be familiar with Browne, a cast member.

The show is free, though donations will be accepted for The Second City Alumni Fund, which benefits performers and other people tied to Second City experiencing health and financial challenges.
