Introducing Discovering Wholeness Podcast cohost, Gillian Drader!

Gillian Drader is a Registered Clinical Counsellor, Clinical Supervisor, Spiritual Director, Educator, and Founder of Gillian Drader and Associates. Gillian is passionate about the intersection between trauma and spirituality and offers trauma informed care within her clinical practice as well as in the spiritual formation community in which she facilitates circles for women.

As an educator Gillian has informed many groups and organizations around the topic of trauma and teaches in academic settings to ensure that therapists in training are moving forward in their work with a trauma informed lens. Over the years Gillian has been involved in a number of ministries both locally and internationally and in those settings she experienced personally and saw in others the many ways in which individuals seeking spiritual care often experienced spiritual bypassing and re-traumatization.

Gillian holds a Masters Degree in Clinical Counselling from Bastyr University, a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Simon Fraser University and a Diploma in Criminal Justice from the University of the Fraser Valley. She is also Board Certified in Neurofeedback, a Certified Daring Way Facilitator, Master Trainer and Practitioner in Observed Experiential Integration, and a Consultant and Practitioner for Lifespan Integration.

Gillian is excited to be part of the Discovering Wholeness Podcast as she desires to be an instrument of change and awareness around the issues of trauma and spiritual care especially as it applies to marginalized communities and individuals.

Introducing Discovering Wholeness Podcast cohost, Kyndall Rothaus!

Rev. Kyndall Rae Rothaus is the author of Thy Queendom Come: Breaking Free from the Patriarchy to Save Your Soul (2021) and Preacher Breath (2015). She is a preacher, poet, feminist theologian, q***r woman, storyteller, soul companion, and the co-founder of Nevertheless She Preached, a national, ecumenical movement designed to elevate the voices of those on the margins.

Kyndall is a sought-after public speaker whose piercing insights into the human spiritual condition are delivered with poetic and rhetorical brilliance. She has written for various publications including Faith and Leadership, Working Preacher, Review and Expositor, Good Faith Media, Baptist News Global, and The Upper Room Disciplines. She is an award-winning preacher and spoken word artist. She spent eight years as a Senior Pastor in Baptist churches in Texas, where, among other things, she left a legacy of fighting for LGBTQ+ inclusion in the church and dismantling patriarchy inside religion. In 2019 Kyndall left institutional church work to found her own practice as a spiritual director, working with individuals to heal from religious trauma and re-imagine their spirituality. She holds a Masters of Divinity from George W. Truett Theological Seminary, a Bachelors Degree in Theology from Southern Nazarene University, and her Spiritual Direction Certification from the Haden Institute.

As a q***r woman who grew up under the weight of Christian fundamentalism, as a survivor of both sexual assault and domestic abuse, and as the adoptive mom of two foster children, Kyndall is deeply passionate about the work of healing from trauma. Introducing Discovering Wholeness Podcast cohost, Kyndra Frazier!

Kyndra Frazier is an ordained Baptist clergywoman, licensed clinician, and the Founder and CEO of KYND (Knowing Yourself In Need of Devotion) Consulting, Inc. KYND offers trauma-informed care through a variety of services from clinical therapy for individuals, families, and couples to trauma-informed training for corporate entities and ecclesial communities, as well as spiritual direction. These services are centered in evidenced-based interventions such as mindfulness, motivational interviewing, CBT, and IPT. KYND also offers Executive Listening sessions for organizations. Kyndra was most recently the Founding Executive Director of The HOPE Center, a free mental health facility located in Central Harlem of NYC, and formally served as the Associate Pastor of Congregational Care and Wellness at First Corinthian Baptist Church. Known for her work in removing barriers to mental health access for communities of color. She was recently featured on the 2020 Root 100 list of Most Influential African Americans. She has also been featured in multiple print and digital publications including Vice Magazine, New York Times, and Sojourners Magazine. She holds a Master of Divinity from Candler School of Theology|Emory University, a Master of Social Work from Columbia University, and a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from North Carolina A&T State University.

Kyndra is passionate about Discovering Wholeness, particularly after witnessing the collective trauma of COVID 19 and the accompanying increase of mental health vulnerabilities, paired with the pandemic of racism and the many black lives murdered at the hands of police brutality. Her direct experience with trauma coupled with her desire to heal with intention give Kyndra both the insight and the inspiration to contribute to this conversation in meaningful ways. Introducing Discovering Wholeness Podcast: Healing Trauma, Unearthing Self!

Hosted by Kyndra Frazier, Gillian Drader, and Kyndall Rae Rothaus in partnership with Good Faith Media.

In this podcast we discuss trauma, spirituality, and staying grounded as we heal ourselves and walk alongside those who are healing. We address how to be a trauma-informed caregiver, whether that be as a minister, spiritual director, chaplain, friend, partner, therapist, healer, etc. We talk about the ins and outs of religious trauma and how we begin to heal and recover our innate wholeness.
