Meet SDN Director, Dr. Laura Young! Dr. Young is from Falls City, NE and is a faculty member in the communications option within the ALEC Department. She also directs Strategic Discussions for Nebraska as part of the senior capstone experience.

"The communication option within ALEC prepares all students to strategically communicate the right message at the right time and to the right audience," she said. "The opportunities are endless with an ALEC-Communication degree for those interested in telling the story of agriculture and/or about the environment."

"I chose AESC because it is so important to learn how to correctly communicate about the important issues related to agriculture and natural resources. I fell in love with it because of the commitment to communication, in all its forms, the faculty and staff, who care about me and my success, and all the courses are taught by experienced faculty in small classes," said Schultz.

A fun fact about Schultz is she loves being outdoors on the farm, with her dog, or playing pickleball with her mom, dad, and little brother.
