20) "Have been on furlough since March. My area of work was massively affected due to the fact that most of it involves being in spaces with high numbers of people. I work for a big retail brand - retail in general took a huge hit this year. As a brand, many cuts had to be made and work have to be suspended in areas like mine. I'd say lockdown and not being able to work has been so surreal, but on a personal level, such a blessing in disguise. 20) Today is about , a Creative Producer and Art Buyer- a job that is fast paced, creative, everchanging, fun, full of lessons!
19) lockdown experience "In terms of my work, I put MAD internal pressure on myself especially with DJing and lost confidence in myself work wise at the same time! I thought I had to keep up with every live and do a mix a day to ensure I wouldn't be forgotten once everywhere opened up.
And whilst adapting to new things is absolutely something I have to challenge myself with, I also now sit better in knowing that I'm talented and my authentic connections with people are way more important than just what I can do to compete with others.
Since March, I've put out some mixes I'm proud of, taken part in virtual events, been on radio, got my own branded merch, played a Boiler Room set, learnt about new & old music and kept up with some of my favourite DJs.
With Party & Paint, we've hosted summer events in the park, held online parties and even celebrated our 2nd birthday with a sold out socially distanced event.
Plus my main job at Ballie has seen us sell through new evening brunch sessions, change the layout of our venue to accomodate seating throughout, launch a new ball pit design and create takeaway cocktails to beat the 10pm curfew. So the changes came through thick and fast in all aspects of my work. And that meant the learnings continued too!"
19) "All three of my roles were affected by lockdown, and it took me a minute to realise! Sounds crazy I know but the events company I work for slowly drew back on their face-to-face events, DJ bookings dried up and the venue I work for closed by mid March. As I'm sure everyone felt, everything happened so quickly and I was kind of ignorant to it all initially.
2020's been a YEAR. Life-changing and one that's forced me to adapt - to learn that my own space is cool, that I contribute energy to different situations, that the slow life actually can work, that everything is relative in this lifestyle I live, that I am still creative even when my outputs are closed off, that it's okay to feel lonely but also enjoy time alone. I could go on."

18) "I created in lockdown after wanting to show people my work for a long time. I was put on furlough so this was a great side hustle to keep me busy and also connect with people through the pandemic. I was able to provide custom art and people were sending them to their families as gifts. It really warmed my heart!"

My line of work as mentioned above comes into though because I felt like my main job as a Researcher had become so demanding during the pandemic that I was losing my creativity? And felt stuck? 15) "I usually only get time to create in my spare time, so for me having a lockdown worked wonders for me and my craft. It enabled me to experiment a lot more because I now had time to actually come up with concepts that not only I would love, but others would appreciate too. 12) "While volunteering and looking for work through lockdown, my mental health suffered at the start of the year and I created lots of work as a means of healing. Following on from this I have gained freelance opportunities which involved book editing, live digital performance and illustrating a book as well as commissions. I have completed the Prince's Trust arts enterprise course over the summer, and I am in the process of officially launching my business, online shop and my services as an Artist, Designer and Creative Facilitator."
