So excited to drop todays newest episode featuring my jaw dropping sister, Cecelia. She’s an executive, a mentor and a mom, and I interview her about the challenges and triumphs she’s faced, her world travels (she’s been to 5 of the 7 continents!) and how she managed it all over the last two years while achieving her MBA and working full time. 🫢

My big sister is amazingly accomplished, holding an E-MBA from Notre Dame, and working as the Chief Experience Officer for an Information Technology company ...

Over on the blog, I wrote a piece from the heart about what I, you, and all of us can “do” about the pandemic crisis rapidly unfolding in India. I’d love to know your thoughts and, if you’re local, let me know if you’re interested in an in-person, outdoor fundraising class to benefit the birthplace of yoga.

New Podcast Cover!

Please, do bear with me as I get the branding and look of this show just right, it’s shifted a couple of times since our launch last fall and I continue to receive great feedback about things to try and bring it to more people, increase exposure and refine process, production and distribution.

One of the things I’ve heard regularly is that listeners want to see WHO the host is before they commit to listening. Although that feels a bit judgy to me, another friend said: actually, no, it starts to build trust for those who don’t know you. Since many of you know me, you listen because we already trust one another, so that was important for me to learn.

The other part was me letting go that by showing my picture I was making it all “about me” and allowing an egoic sense of self to take over. Another friend, actually, the behind the scenes guy I work with, Chase who helps the magic happen said: it actually IS about you, you’re the host, it’s your show, you can and should own it.

So, thank you to everyone who continues helping me along as I keep learning and figuring out what’s best.

And...Guess what? We’re THIS CLOSE to 1K downloads! I’m hoping we’ll reach that number this week. Will you help? Here’s how:

1. Catch up on listening to any episodes you might have missed.

2. Have YOU practiced lately? Go back and try one of the movement episodes or, try the guided meditation or recent personal workshop episode.

3. Send a favorite episode or interview to someone you think would appreciate what the guest had to say.

4. Subscribe on your favorite channel and/or rate and review on Apple Podcasts.

5. Use to share MYA posts directly on your feed, and consider posting to your stories with a description of your own thoughts about the podcast is an easy share too!

Mostly, just thank you for all your continued support, keep listening closely and expanding exponentially, it’s always a great time to bring your mind and body to the mat.

Shannon, our most recent guest in Episode 21 recently moved coasts, from California to North Carolina, where she is not only finding some of her personal roots, but also expanding and learning on what it means to do her work in a new environment, and all that living in “the south” brings with it.

Join us as we delve into learning about some of the women (and men) who have inspired her by the work they do, how and why the move happened, and what it means for the continued growth of the nonprofit organization she founded over 20 years ago.

Want to know what this is?

It’s homemade vegetable broth, and it’s one of the things I learned from Shannon and through working with the other ladies see Episode 21 .yoga.audio for more wisdom from her.

It is simply composed of rough chopped vegetables of whatever you have on hand and water. That’s it. For this batch I also added a teaspoon of organic vegetable bouillon to the large stock pot. Bring it all to a boil and simmer for at least an hour.

Typically, I sip all morning on it, refrigerate what’s left and do that again the next day, and then whatever is left is poured into a container and refrigerated or frozen to use with my next batch of rice, quinoa or other soup base!

It’s genius delicious and helps you ingest some nutrient dense liquid into you that’s nice and warm. I’m a huge fan of smoothies, but until it’s HOT out there, I’m too cold in the mornings to drink that and this is a great alternative.

Have you ever made your own vegetable broth?

This recipe was:

One large onion, rough chopped
6 stalks of celery, rough chopped
2 large cloves of garlic, peeled and crushed (not chopped)
1 cup lentils
1 bunch of dark green kale, peeled from the stems, but not chopped
One green onion, rough chopped
One reason of organic vegetable bouillon paste, stirred in

Combine all in a big pot and fill up with water, bring to boil and then low boil/simmer for 1-2 hours. Sip away (broth only, leave the chunks of veggies in the pot) to your heart’s content and then refrigerate or freeze what’s left until next time!

Have you ever wondered why you feel pulled towards studying, reading or following a particular thing?

In this excerpt from Episode 21 with Shannon Thompson of she reveals some of the endeavors she was pulled towards just before launching her non profit organization. What felt like a lark sometimes, ended up being the foundation for many of the healing practices she would offer to women and girls navigating recovery journeys.

Tune in to not only hear the foundational story of how one woman through her own recovery, decided to make it her life’s mission to help other women do the same.

As we approach spring equinox tomorrow, I’d love to encourage you all to spend some time outdoors whenever you can in the coming days.

Our most recent guest, Joshua Stoddard reminded us that music is all around us, sound healing is all around us, and that some of the most amazing recording sessions he’s ever had, took place in the outdoors where he just stopped his van and recorded a song right there and then.

Even if you live in a mostly urban environment, what can you notice about the nature around you? What can you see, observe and hear? How does it make you feel to know that you are part of the ecosystem on this planet, not just observing it?

I encourage you to share your thoughts in the comments. Link in bio to listen to Joshua’s full interview, including about 15 minutes of his beautiful music at the end.

Yesterday I got “dressed” for my scheduled podcast interview guest and I to virtually meet and record our session, and it felt really good! I’ve been embracing the emphatically minimal effort look 🤷🏽‍♀️ since WFH for the most part, but every once in a while it feels wonderful to put on a nice lip, accessories and clothing I really love and feel comfortable in.

I am so excited for all of our upcoming guests on the show, you have no idea!! Thank you everyone for your continued support, follows, shares and listens, it means a lot.

If you have time, please consider writing a review and rating the show on Apple podcasts, it really helps more people to discover the show. Thank you to those of you who already have!! 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
We are now being listened to in a dozen countries, WOO HOO!

One week from today will be a new episode, so in the meantime, keep enjoying last week’s interview with Roshaun Davis, and, please go back and check out our previous guests too. I honestly believe each and every episode
and guest has brought incredible value, with plenty of nuggets and sometimes VOLUMES of wisdom and insight that we all can learn from.

I appreciate you.
With love,
Megan

SOUND ON: In our recent interview with Roshaun Davis, in Episode 19, he speaks on one of the campaigns he’s worked on called Made With Melanin.

You can learn more about it not only in our interview, (link to full episode in bio) but see more of the images and designs on and as well as on the website:

displaycalifornia.com

You can also visit the store in-person if you’re local, at 35th and Broadway in Sacramento and check out their array of other items too!

As Roshaun stated so beautifully;

“We’re all made with melanin, and that should be celebrated, not segregated.”

Episode 19: Living in Flow with Roshaun Davis aka is live today! (link in bio)

The excitement is real folks! I was so thrilled to be able to interview Roshaun and download his insights on yoga and meditation, family life during the pandemic, business smarts (did you know he’s been named one of our city’s top 100 business leaders?) and what it means to live in flow.

Roshaun’s firm is behind a plethora of incredible events in our region that I’ll bet most of you have been to and may not know about.

We also talk about two recent exciting launches he’s been behind;

The Made with Melanin clothing line and the the creators of the Build Black App. Tune in, this is a don’t miss episode!

A little bit more about Episode 18 guest of honor Femily

We met a few years ago through (I’ve mentioned them before, such an amazing organization where I’ve met many of the most amazing people!)

Yes, Femily carried the big and important title of Silicon Valley’s Gender/Equity Advisor, but she’s also an artist, fierce fashionista and makes every moment the most fun ever.

So we talk about how she works with individuals and corporations and we also talk about how she found her calling and voice, and strong sense of style.

Link in bio for the whole episode, and next Saturday, Episode 19 will drop!

Happy Weekend All!
