Sunset Session Vol.43 - Hiatus XII is now out.

Its been a good couple of months since the last show due me going on holiday and spending 5 weeks away in the UK.

The time away allowed me time to have a good look and listen for some great new tunes.��

After volume 42’s more laid back tempo, we really pick things up in volume 43 where we showcase some really great driving Trance Music.

Sunset Sessions Volume 41 is now out.

Due to life’s commitments, It’s been quite some time since the last show, but it’s good to be back and we have some great music ahead.

Not long now guys!

Sunset Live part 3 is our 3rd annual fundraising event for Cancer Council Australia and Cancer Council UK

In 2019 I hosted a 12 hour live stream, I then came back in 2021 and went right through to 18 hours.

This time the bar has been raised higher again, and on 26/02/22 I will be DJing for a full 24 hours none stop by myself for charity.
The total amount combined for both Sunset Live events in 2019 and 2021 came in at at converted rate of £1116.09/$2008.39 between both charities.

So once again thank you to everybody who dropped a dime for both events and I hope we can add to that figure!

There's a fair bit information here, so I'll break it down a bit.

WHAT IS THE EVENT?
The event is an 24 hour none stop Solo DJ set that will be streamed online for anybody to watch. The set has been fully structured and I'll be playing over 300 songs that have been carefully selected and ordered - fully mixed in with hopefully no mistakes!

WHY AM I DOING THIS?
I am doing this to fundraise for the fight against Cancer and raise money for the main charities in my Birth Country - The UK, and my Country of Residence - Australia, I also love music and I love DJing. My last event was 18 hours long and almost finished me off. So 24 hours none stop will be intense!

WHY CANCER?
Because Cancer can go and f*ck itself. It is a disease that has effected almost everybody in some way or form. Whether it be a family, friend or yourself. It's something very close to us all. I have advocated for the fight against Cancer for many years and have been involved in many other events and fundraisers. More prominently I have also lost friends to Cancer in just the past couple of years.

Happy Sunday everybody, new music for you. Stick it on and chill out.
One thing I love about this series is it allows my to showcase the many different subgenres of trance music, and at times even tipping into complete other genres - which is what we will be doing today.

Vol. 33 is primarily made up of melodic and deep house, easy listening stuff that is perfect for a Sunday morning hangover.
When I made this mix I visualised it as something that you would listen to on the beach - hence its name beach life - in which we are now on number 3

Far too many people get caught up on trying to band music into Genres and lined can become blurred

The bottom line is who cares? Great music is great.

So the weather is great and the sun is shining, as always turn it up and enjoy.

Exactly one month today I'll be just past the halfway point of my Fundraiser for Cancer Council Australia and Cancer Research UK.
As you may remember I held a similar event in 2019 and we rasied over a $1000 for both Charities.

Theres a fair bit information here, so I'll break it down a bit.

WHAT IS THE EVENT.

Archive Vol IV - The Sounds of Sunset 🕺🏻🔈now up! 👌🏻

Some of you may know that way back in the day I used to help co-promote and DJ at a local monthly trance night in St Helens called ‘Sunset’ with its founders/promoters and resident DJs Phil Reid & Ant Smith and it sure did pretty well over its five year run 😉

The night showcased many talented local DJs from in and around the northwest (with the odd high profile DJs dropping in now and then), playing the best in progressive and uplifting trance music at that time. We also played out at a number of other established local nights over the years taking the Sunset sounds outside of St Helens. Vol IV in the Archive series is dedicated to my amazing four years with Sunset and is my soundtrack to some of mine and the nights favourite tunes during those years.

So even if you never managed to attend Sunset back in the day but are a fan of classic trance, or even if you just need some motivation music for a jog/gym session or even you just want a late night rave up at home then this is most definitely the mix for

The final part of my 12 hour live set is now available to stream,

As you know the event was a fundraiser to raise money for Cancer Research UK and Cancer Council Australia in which we raised over a 1000 Dollars.
So once again thank you to everybody that donated, it was very much appreciated.

We pick up where we left off last time, 9 hours into my Solo DJ set with 3 hours to go. It's probably fair to say that by this point things where getting a little hazy and it was becoming hard for me to concentrate.
Over the next 3 hours we continue with some of my all time personal Trance music before capping the whole event off with some classics.

I'd like to thank everybody for their support, especially my Wife Gemma who lost me for countless days in the prior months whilst I arranged everything.

The full 12 hour event was videoed and will be uploaded in its entirety to Youtube in the near future.
