Today begins a month that I wish we didn’t need to bring awareness too. A month where we remember (even more so) our babies we lost and/or never got to meet. A month where we take a stand in saying their names, sharing our stories, and speaking our truths.

Because the sad reality is… Pregnancy & Infant Loss shouldn’t be such a hush hush subject. So many women (and men) are struggling through this day in and day out.

So to start this month, let’s shed light to our babies. Share their names below or tag a mama who needs to be reminded that her baby is loved and will never be forgotten.

This month (and every month), I will be standing in prayer for each of you. 💙💕🌈

WOW WOW WOW!

1k total plays of the podcast from various podcast streaming services! 😱

Before I got pregnant with my own rainbow baby, I knew I wanted to hear stories of other women who had navigated the waters of pregnancy after loss. I found lots of podcasts that shared stories of pregnancy and loss, but not one that focused specifically on both.

And thus, this dream became a reality. I’m beyond grateful for the women who have already shared their stories and ones who will in the future to help others that are walking similar journeys.

If you haven’t already done so, feel free to give an episode (or all of them) a listen anywhere you listen to podcasts or on YouTube.

🚨 NEW PODCAST EPISODE 🚨

When I decided to start this podcast, I knew I wanted to have Gabrielle Templet Geiger share her story if she was willing. Gabby helped me navigate my own loss and pregnancy after loss while pregnant with her own rainbow baby, so I was so thankful when she graciously agreed to share her story on the podcast.

But tomorrow morning, a new episode will be released that I recorded with Gabrielle Templet Geiger before my little guy made his appearance into the world. Here’s a preview from tomorrow’s episode. Stay tuned… this episode will pull on your heart strings. ❤️

“Rainbows remind us that even after the darkest clouds, and the fiercest winds, there is still beauty.” —Katrina Mayer

On June 16th, our family welcomed our sweet rainbow baby. He has been the joy in the midst of a year of unthinkable sadness. And while we will never forget the baby we never got to meet or hold, we are ridiculously thankful for this miracle God has blessed us with.

Today is International Bereaved Mother’s Day 💕

While I fully believe that every mother everywhere (no matter how many children they have earth side) should be celebrated next weekend, I ask that you pray for the mothers who next weekend may not be as much of a celebration for. Keep these women in your prayers this week as they may dread the feelings that Mother’s Day brings.

🌺 The mother who is still waiting for her miracle
🌼 The mother who has lost a pregnancy (no matter the type or time)
🌸 The mother who has lost a child
🌺 The mother who has lost a teen
🌼 The mother who has lost their adult children

These mothers should and will still be celebrated next weekend, but keep them in your prayers from now until then (and afterwards) because Mother’s Day isn’t always happy. Mother’s Day is often sad. It’s often bittersweet. And it’s often hard to navigate.

If you are a bereaved mother, please know I am praying for you today and always. 💕

Tonight I recorded with my girl and while you’ll have to wait a couple of weeks for her episode to drop, her story reminded me so much of the guilt that comes with different types of loss.

Early loss, chemical pregnancies, ectopic pregnancies...

It’s easy to tell yourself “at least you weren’t so far along” or “so and so had it worse.” Grief is relative, and your pain is real and it is valid.

Do not let ANYONE (including yourself) make you feel guilty for feeling pain and grieving over the life you lost because a loss is still that... a loss. 💙💕

Secondary infertility. The club you never thought you would be a part of but the club that made you YOU.

If you have been here awhile, you know we lost 3 babies since Logan was born. It was exactly 2 years ago this month, I was told to expect to miscarry - and so began my next infertility hurdle, secondary infertility.

All of this heartache, money, injections, doctors appointments, and waiting has lead us here to you. The past 2 years have made me so appreciative of my daughter. I’m amazed that she is even here on this earth 🌍. I know not to take a second for granted because those seconds are precious.

Worth The Wait.

These words right here 👆🏻...

Are very important. If you’re reading this, write that phrase down and reference it when you feel defeated. There is so much pain and frustration with this process. But don’t give up. Don’t ever give up

This week is National Infertility Awareness Week

1 in 8 women struggle with infertility
1 in 4 have had a miscarriage
2% of people have had 2 miscarriages back-to-back
1% have experienced 3+ miscarriages

While this page is dedicated to pregnancy after loss, it doesn’t escape me that not every woman is fortunate enough to become pregnant again after a loss.

So many women I know (and even more that I don’t) spend countless hours, days, months, and at times years trying to have a baby they may never get to welcome on this side of heaven.
They spend money that doesn’t guarantee them a baby.
They hold onto hope while also knowing that the odds are rarely in their favor despite the various treatments thrown their way.

You will never know every detail of a person’s life, and not everyone showcases their issues to the world. Remember to be considerate and never EVER assume because someone doesn’t have kids or isn’t pregnant that they aren’t trying or they don’t want them.

I would never wish infertility, miscarriage, stillbirth, or infant loss on ANYONE, but this journey has taught me so many things along the way.

I miss the baby we never got to know, but I appreciate my 9 year old more than I ever could’ve before, and I know this rainbow baby I’m carrying wouldn’t exist if it weren’t for the baby we lost.

It’s okay to feel sad while simultaneously feeling grateful. 🌈

One year ago, we found out we were expecting the baby we didn’t know at the time we would never get to meet. And while I’m beyond thankful that we are expecting another baby, I’ve learned the hard way that pregnancy after loss is so so different than other pregnancies.

It is feeling thankful for the baby you’re carrying while simultaneously missing a baby you didn’t get to meet or keep.
It is feeling guilty that you’re still sad while you have friends you know suffering with infertility.
It is knowing each step of the way where you would have or should have been with your previous pregnancy or how old your baby should be.
It is checking for blood every time you go to the bathroom.
It is being scared of every ache, pain, twinge while also questioning any lack of symptoms.
It is being anxious before every ultrasound because you know the pain of those horrible words... “I’m sorry. There’s no heartbeat.”
It is bittersweet.

So today, I’m thankful, yes. But I’m also sad. And that’s okay too. 💙💕

One year ago this week, I found out I was pregnant. It was less than a month later I unfortunately also found out I was miscarrying our sweet angel baby.

I commented to a friend just the other day how it’s odd that I’ve been sitting on this idea for so long and am just deciding to get it off the ground. But realizing what this week is for our family, it’s such a God wink that He put this on my heart to finally put into action.

Tonight I’ll be recording my intro and outro to the podcast and hopefully my own story of pregnancy after loss. Then the podcast will be getting underway, as I’ve already had 20 brave, strong mamas volunteer to share their stories as well.

I’m looking forward to the lives this will hopefully touch now and in the future. Until this thing officially launches... stay tuned, y’all! ✌🏼
