Going to post more again about recording tips, tech knowledge and my projects.
There are some topics that could be confusing when you're recording your first songs. For example the sampling rate. What is this thing?
We use 44.1kHz for best quality, CPU power savings and avoiding aliasing (sample error).
When you are are recording with a guitar or a microphone you have an analog signal. To get this into your computer you are using an interface with an A/D converter which does an anlog to digital conversion. With the sampling frequency (or sample rate) you determine how often your signal is checked and stored. Our ear works from 20 to 20.000Hz. Audio may contain higher frequencies, but they can’t be recognized from a human. So in music production we only focus on this area. When converting the analog signal into a digital signal, it is important to use at least the dual sample rate, to make sure you are getting the right signal back.
